I was excited to watch this Disney classic 'Cinderella' but I was underwhelmed. So much of the film is focused and wasted on the mice and cat storyline, it felt more like a tom and jerry episode than a classic fairytale. I was perplexed as to how much time they dedicated on the mice talking and Lucifer almost as if Cinderella herself was a side character. Cinderella herself too is a passive weak character and Prince Charming is so underdeveloped as a character himself, there was great opportunity to build characters and stories to give some depth. Also we never saw the evil Step mother and sisters get their comeuppance which the viewers deserved to see to make it full circle.
What on earth was the point of this episode? I get people like certain bands more than others but this really misses the mark in a huge way. It's an episode that goes against the fabric of the show, its not creative, dark or even thought provoking. It's a poor music video for an American band via puppets. I found myself saying huh and what was the point of that? Come on please do better next season, this was quite poor.
For an episode with 8 minutes, you really need to master your elevator pitch. This show did this beautifully when it first started, took you straight to the message, story and it was coupled with great graphics. This was a poor filler of an episode, I wondered why they even bothered with this, it does not look witty or creative. In an age of so many digital distractions, a short punch filled episode is worth its weight in gold, not a strong episode.
