What's Eating Gilbert Grape is one of those little treasures that for the most part most people do know about mainly do to Leonardo DiCaprio's knockout performance as Arnie Grape. I did not hate the film, please don't come at me with the number rating, I liked it, it's just to long for me and some parts arer cheesy, but I like the visuals, and it makes us feel like we are seeing life in a different way than usual. I think for the most part Leo takes the spotlight away from Johnny Depp, due to his wonderful performance like I said above, but Johnny still delivers a great performance as well, is one of those films that you are going to relly on the performances. I give " What's Eating Gilbert Grape " a 3 out of 10 Stars.
First of all, I like that our people are making this type of films, what I mean by that is our Mexican people, I'm so proud that we can use our Mexican Spanish dialogue on movies, and what a privilege is I guess to be working around Tom Hanks. All that being said, the movie is great is really well made, is like Monster House meets Gran Torino, a mixture of those 2 movies, I like the acting of Tom Hanks and by the Mexican actress. That was something new to me to see om screen, the movie is so sad and well done and the chemistry between our main leads is great, the marriage between Otto and his wife is so beautiful and you feel the connection between them, at the end is a well done movie and is not as bad as some people are saying or describing the movie, you can really relate to most of this characters, that's why I really enjoyed it. I give " A Man Called Otto" a 9 out of 10 Stars.
This has to be one of the dumbest, stupidest, but so good comedy of quite some time, The Wayan brothers have been doing this since the Scary Movie franchise, and they are great at what they do. White chicks is what a dumb comedy should be like, the movie is surrounded by stupid jokes and it's just so Chessy most of the time, the humor is so over the top and the Terry Crews is just so funny in this movie, his one liners at every scene he is at is just top notch, he is great on this movie. White Chicks became so iconic, and it's remembered for most of the quotes that they deliver. The movie is unique it makes you laugh, and the best part is that it will always be great dumb comedy. I give " White Chicks " a 9 out of 10 Stars. For the iconic scenes for the iconic quotes, White Chicks becomes one of the Wayan brothers best comedies.
