  • Suspense and great pacing

Cop in small town drowning his sorrows investigates a serial killer. That's the premise, but it's so much more than that. It's a drama, but then has suspense worthy of a great horror film. The characterisation is good, but just a bit you may feel that it doesn't pull you into the characters enough. The acting isn't fantastic, but it's fine amd sometimes good. I actually liked the music/sound as it really helped with the suspense. The pacing is good and I was never bored. Not only is their mystery, but there is spooky clairvoyance. So why did I score 8? The story itself, the way it fit together, was excellent. Not sure if it was based on a book, but it would also have been a good book. They really found the right balance such that the ending was effective.

I recommend this film to most people. Probably won't be a huge success, but the writer and film team as well as actors should be recognised for creating a great STORY. Hope it gets some awards.

  • Surely will be a classic

So many good things about Peacemaker. I'm not a super hero movie fan. Absolutely dire stories with two dimensional characters and using special effects instead of good dialogue and story.

Peacemaker is none of that and fundamentally is NOT a super hero series. Know what it reminds me of? Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Peacemaker is character focussed, with excellent casting (every single one amhas an interesting and unique character, and funny characteristics). Indeed my favourite probably Economos who's simply a fat bearded middle aged man (though I also love Adrian). Peacemaket is excellently played by John Sena, as a sensitive though sometimes a bit dumb, 'hero' that is all too human. Very little of the story is about action, but the pacing is good, the humour consistent and original, and to be honest Season 2 episode 5 brought a tear to my eye at the end.

Just love the original story lines, and the interactions between the characters, with story arcs. Even the new characters in season 2 get interesting and unique personalities. Dann, even the Eagle is developing a background story.

Of course it's famous for one of hest intros ever made (in Season 1) which is also good, but not quite as polished for Season 2. Though the hunour and story, and story building, is just as good if not better in Season 2.

If you like a rag bag team that have their own personal problems working together despite their faults and only succeeding because deep down they care about each other, you'll love this. Great it doesn't tow the forced politically correct line, nor feels need to fight it.. simply a great great series. I'd say the worst thing is, I know one day the series will end and I'll miss it, but hopefully I will die before that day comes.

  • Good, but a little pacing problem toward end

Overall I really enjoyed this film. Focused on a woman from a tiny town wanting to make it as an actor in the big city, but focus on film his her part time work at a clinic where they use a dream state to heal people.

Lead actress was very good, and the story didn't have a Hollywood feel but instead seemed to evolve organically. In this way, it was never boring or predictable. Didn't focus just on scifi/horror element, but also this girl's feeling of isolation and struggle. Also had some interesting relationship arcs though they weren't really fulfilled or concluded.

I get the point of the ending, and it is one of these ones that u can still wonder what is real or not real, but I think, despite being somewhat satisfying, the ending was less interesting than the rest of the film. All the same, I recommend this film to watch, and indeed an surprised doesn't get a higher rating. Won't stay with you, but is a good film and did deserve awards it got.
