I usually love the shows on Acorn but this is a miss. It's painfully slow with an easy to read plot amidst a lot of angst. Part of that is Acorn's fault, drip feeding two episodes at a time - there are 52 episodes which is designed to keep subscribers, subscribed. I watched the first 12 episodes and it's just plain predictable. After the first 12 knew I'd never make it to 52. Summerdahl Murders on the other hand is great!
This is a show that makes you feel good. I've watched the entire 10 seasons and couldn't wait for each new season. The characters are well played and interesting. Well written, good dialogue. Light, fun and easy to watch. It is utterly charming, especially in today's world..a breath of fresh air.
Sorry it ended. That said, the finale was grossly disappointing. So many directions it could have taken...and didn't. It almost played out that there may be a Season 11 but apparently not. Very disappointing finale.
Glad that Amazon Prime offers subscriptions to PBS Masterpiece so I could have access. They run a lot of Walter Presents which is excellent programming, far superior to American programs. This was simply another in a long line of its. Hoping for more like this.
