Ohhhh, what a disappointment! JS staring, David A directing, written and backed by Sylvester S but it ends up as B movie trash! What a waste. The story has been done SO many times before that the tire is now treadless. No new fighting moves, no new types of bad guys, etc. It adds nothing to the genre. Even the bad guy actors are horridly inept at their craft. Not one of them convincing. Usually, I give films a lot of leeway. This one - NOT. The sad thing is this likely marks JS now as a B movie actor. Very disappointing. And the headliners just phoned this one in. Even the final shoot out was ridiculous. Movies are the suspension of belief. Certainly no such luck here. You're better off watching old Stingray episodes! Yeah, it's that bad!!!
I love the schmulzy sci-fi films with big effects, quirky characters, and big concepts that are typically physically impossible. But this one was awful. Part of the problem was they we're taking it seriously rather than the nonsense sci-fi it was. So much angst!!! Sharing their life-defining moments while driving thru the molten core was so ridiculous. But not the good-laugh kind. More the oh-no that-is-horrible-acting kind. Movies are a lot about the suspension of belief. But Just couldn't buy onto the dreck they were selling here. And the oh -so predictable bad guys. Sorry to say there are few to no redeeming qualities in this tragic attempt to make a movie!
