This show is a good old western. It stays pretty realistic as far as how the stories are told and the major things that happen. Not nearly as good or gritty as Deadwood but good stories, though they sometimes rely a bit too much on coincidence and 'happy' turns of fate to drive the stories forward. I like that they don't rely too much on violence and shootouts and keep the stories grounded more on that front. As much as I love the character of "The Swede" who is acted superbly and is just a wonderful antagonist, I don't like what they've done with his character. Can't say more without giving out any obvious spoilers so I'll just leave it at that. The acting over all is quite good by all actors. I like not knowing with 100% certainty what's going to happen to different characters week to week.
Let me start off first by saying that this movie is not very good but I would put it against other movies of the same era and say that it is better than average.
It certainly doesn't deserve the bad rap that it has gotten over the years and isn't a terrible movie either, however. I'm not sure why so many people hate this film. The direction, writing and acting are all just fine.
Brooke Shields looks great and does a fair enough job of playing the main character.
The story is also very unique and fun with her literally coming out of the comic strip as a real life character. Maybe the strangeness of that turns some people off.
But it's a fun movie and worth seeing... if you can find it that is, it's not super well known or loved!

This movie is amazing and the biggest reason why is the actor. This is maybe the single best performance by an actor in any movie that I have ever seen.
I'm not sure why but I have to write ten whole lines for this review to count and be posted but I'm not sure what else to say so I guess I will just keep typing? This is really pointless, if we just have something short to say why should we have to write a bunch of extra mumbo jumbo too?
Anyway if you like great performances then check this movie out, he is awesome!
