Art the Clown more than lives up to the hype. Unfortunately there's next to zero plot or character development here. It's just an excuse to do one grotesque thing after another. Which I actually understand when it comes to the old Video Nasty phenomenon, but it would be nice if I cared a tiny bit about the fate of the characters aside from Art.
I don't even know what to say about this. The perpetrator should be in prison for the rest of their natural life. I'm angry after watching this, which shows that it was effective. An absolutely abhorrent story that should never have happened for so many reasons. Worth a watch but unfortunately very sad.
It feels like the kind of movie that won't leave you alone for a while afterward. Not so much a film about the supernatural as it is about grief, and the lengths we would go to do anything except face it.
What I love about a film like this is that it contains real people, both protagonists and antagonists, and not just hollow props to be jump scared or killed.
There's real depth here that does proper justice to horror as a genre. It explores some ugliness in human nature that we may want to recoil from, but which nevertheless is there. Worth a watch for any fan of horror or the human condition.
