I really enjoy the Great Pottery Throwdown. It's wonderful to watch people doing their best and supporting each other. Some of the challenges are too difficult for the time allowed and I've heard that they often don't allow enough drying time. This is why many of the creations fall apart. The only issue, for me, is Siobhan. Maybe I don't get British humor. Coming up behind a person making delicate pottery and screaming is funny? She's obnoxious and repulsive. Without Siobhan this is a great show. With her its barely tolerable.
I've forced myself to watch an episode of Lower Decks and it's really not for me. This episode of SNW unfortunately takes it's tone from LD. I tried but couldn't manage to finish. I kept hoping they would tone down the over the top annoying stupidity, but apparently the LD fans love it, it's like nails on a chalkboard for me. Meg Ryan's son is terrible here, just as he was on LD. What a waste of an episode. I feel cheated. Have the writers run out of ideas? Are they going to do a "very special " clip episode next? In the future, please leave the Lower Decks folks to screech and freak out on Lower Decks where they belong.
My husband likes this show but even he had a hard time with this episode. The dialogue and acting are over the top. I get that it's supposed to be a comedy, but it's not funny and this seems like an excuse to present unrealistic characters in unrealistic circumstances. And they tragically underutilize Sebastian. I mean, he's the only one who could survive any kind of chase without risking a heart attack. And why no actual romantic story line for him? It's like a live action cartoon. I keep waiting for someone to hit Frank over the head with a frying pan or drop an anvil on him. It's just so cheesy.
