It's been a long time since I've felt so invested in a movie. I can go through romance films and like them, sure, but this one immerses you and makes you feel.. almost like you are part of it, feeling all the emotions. I really can't pinpoint what it is exactly, but this movie tinkered with my feelings hardcore. There's something magical about this movie. I can also attest to say that I don't usually like musicals, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and like all the songs.
Admist the theatrical and creative style that carries this film, this movie is real. What I mean to say is that it resonates even though it may do things that escape the realm of reality. I think that's why I love it so much. You can relate to all the little feelings and actions these characters do.
I think they did a good job of setting the tone for this movie by introducing the characters and what they're passionate about. This makes us understand them, and root for them. It's the driving force for the entire film. We care about this movie because they're so passionate about something, and it shows them pursue it despite the odds. It's truly a beautiful, admirable, and difficult thing to do.
I think at the end of this film you learn some lessons that are open to interpretation, but no matter what it is, you do take away something from it. I've seen it twice in theaters already and plan on buying it when it comes out on DVD!

What a wonderful film! I enjoyed every second so much. It was creatively put together in such a brilliant way. It's hard to praise this movie without giving small things away, because everything really just is a brilliant surprise. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. This film is also very easy to watch and flows smoothly, making things easy to understand. This is why I think anyone can watch it! This may be the first time I'm giving a 10/10.
I just want to praise the fact that in the beginning of the movie it gives you some clues that you kind of just have to make assumptions about, and in the end it pieces it together in a way that shows you how carefully thought-out everything was... and how some things were there to fool you hahaha. It really is brilliant.
As a casual watcher of sci-fi films, I love films that invite fantasy yet logically provable in some way. I mean without logic, even if fabricated just for the concept for the movie, things wouldn't make sense and it'd seem ridiculous to watch right? This film does a great job with convincing you of how everything works with aliens.
I can't say i'm an expert on sci-films but I know a good one when I see one. This film totally owned their concept of aliens, made it their own, and carried it out masterfully.
I haven't felt this satisfied with a film in a while. I wasn't even the one who picked to watch this movie, I just briefly watched the trailer before going in. Totally surpassed my expectations!

This movie has such a good and seemingly thought-provoking concept. Initially I definitely expected a lot, thinking the trailer was really good and being that Will Smith is one of my favorite actors. However, I was completely open minded to having the movie play out differently than what I expected.
I think the part I just really didn't like was how the movie was arranged. I'm not sure whether or not it was the way it was directed or the way it was written, but it seemed slow and boring to follow at first. Some scenes or story lines felt underwhelming, shallow, or just unnecessary (making it slow). On top of that, I wish they created more of a story, more background where we feel connected to the characters. As the story unfolds and you learn things, you might sort of feel connected based on where the characters are in their lives. So maybe based on your personal experiences you may feel different than I did, but yeah they didn't really reel me in.
At some point the scenes, dialogue, transitions, or general direction of the movie definitely did feel all over the place and scattered. I wish there would have been more depth, in some cases.
