  • Pretty good for a TV adaption

Look, it's not a faithful recreation of the Shannara stories, but two episodes in, it's a good TV adaption. The scenery is gorgeous. The actors are decent and the storyline isn't too far off the 'Elfstones of Shannara'. It's well worth watching. Ignore those reviews that have a go at it for not being a perfect reproduction of the books. A perfect reproduction is not possible as we all see something different in our heads when we read and TV demands that the stories stay action packed, which means some of the finer points won't be there. Watch it with the view of it being an exceptionally well crafted piece of fan art and you'll enjoy it. To those who haven't read the books, I hope this series inspires you to read.

  • Stephen King would get a kick out of it

O.K.the acting leaves something to be desired but what do you expect from a B-grade? I have paid to see worse movies that claimed to be A-grade.

I was pleasantly surprised to find it was not only Stephen King's famous stories getting the nod, but some of his lesser known stories as well.

If you are looking for a serious horror, do not watch this. If you are looking for an A-grade spoof along the lines of the Scary Movie franchise, again do not watch this.

If you are a King fan with a dark and slightly odd sense of humour as many of his fans do, this is right up your alley. How many stories can you find inside the story? I bet this was fun to make.,
