A sudden solar storm renders all electronic equipment on earth unusable. On the same day, a newborn baby named Nina is found near a small village lost in the mountains. After the catastrophic and mysterious atmospheric event that everyone calls "the disaster", civilization as we know it crumbles, resources are scarce and the law of the strongest reigns among humans. In this desolation, Nina's village miraculously remains a world apart, its few inhabitants live a peaceful life without technology and Nina grows up with a strange bond with nature, which leads her to be viewed with suspicion by her peers. When the dangerous outside world comes knocking on the door of the small village, the situation will turn upside down and Nina will be forced to cross the river and take refuge in the mountain, the only place where she can learn about her true origins.

In a cold and dark Sardinia, the crime of a very young girl hides a shocking reality. Sante Moras, former policeman, now prison guard, is accused of a murder he did not commit: a man, guilty of torturing and killing a girl, is found dead during his shift in detention. Forced to flee and chased by the commissioner Tommaso Lago, Sante decides that the only way to save himself is to go all the way and seek the truth. Thanks to the help of Fabiana Lai, a journalist following the case, he will discover some disconcerting truths: Sante is not the only one in danger and must act before other innocent girls are killed.

The movie is a reflection on relationships, on how "toxic" love can be and on how much, in the same way, it can help people get to know each other and grow up; it's a reflection on bonds and on freedom, on what it really means to be free; this story of discovery, of sexuality and of their own way of being together, different from all the others, is told in an intense and effective way.
