I watched "Instinct to Kill", which is based on Lisa Gardner's book "The Perfect Husband", two days ago and was absolutely APPALLED by how STUPID it was. Had NOTHING to do with Lisa's masterpiece, except in the loosest way possible, such as character names. But I digress. I ended up looking up other movies based on the Thriller Queen's books, and I found "Hide", which just happens to be one of my favorite of Lisa's works. I had to get a trial of Starz in order to watch it, which is irritating, but I'm FURIOUS that I can't find it to buy ANYWHERE! SUCH great acting and sticking-to-the-story artistry displayed. (I don't know if anyone else here is a "Burn Notice" fan, too, but in addition to having Zack Morris playing Alex Wilson, Bobby Dodge and Christopher Eola were both played by "Burn Notice" alum (Jay Karnes and Kevin Alejandro). My only critique (and it's just my own pickiness) is that while Carla Gugino is a marvelous actress, DD Warren has shoulder-length blonde curly hair, but Carla does not. Hollywood REALLY needs to invest in making every single one of Lisa Gardner's novels into movies (and don't cheap out on them like they did with "Instinct to Kill" 🙄).
Lisa Gardner's novel, "The Perfect Husband", upon which this movie is stupid movie based, is a MASTERPIECE. This is knockoff GARBAGE, FULL of plot holes! Most of the events in the movie never even happened in the novel, and many key characters and sequences of events in the book were just plain not in the movie! Boooooooooo! If you REALLY want to experience this story the RIGHT way, you really OUGHT to just read the book. Lisa Gardner is the QUEEN of crime thrillers! And then read all the rest of her books in order in which they were published if you're intrigued by "The Perfect Husband" novel.
