I really struggle to find the words to properly review this film in my usual way. It was just so... odd?
In terms of positives, there are two great dance sequences that I really enjoyed, visually the film is stunning, and by the end of the film I did feel like it was saying something profound about life and the human experience.
However, in terms of negatives I'm afraid I have quite a lot. The mashing up of different tones and genres really didn't work for me. The narration was also a really poor filmmaking decision I thought. The film says at the end that it's based on a short story, which I think is very obvious. It felt like a good short-form idea that was being stretched unsuccessfully into a feature length film.
