The soundtrack is pretty nice and fits well.
Animation is good, really good at times but a lot of dialogue is just your typical Japanese filler. A lot of dialogue spent on boring stuff.
The concept is nice which is quite simply two people go to bed and wake up as each other the next day and in their next sleep they revert back. There are a few twists and turns in this story and the way it is handled swapping to between the two leads is done well.
There's nothing bad here, it's just not that good either. For anyone that plays JRPG's you know the sort of pointless babble I'm talking about with the story. Too much boring stuff between the good stuff.
It's very much a chick flick and unless you're looking for a chick flick then it's hard to recommend.
The 5/10 is a solid 5 and it has plenty to like but I can't think of anyone I could recommend this film to for the simple fact it's boring. I nearly switched it off halfway through. The characters are pretty likeable and I think that's maybe what kept me watching to see their fate.
Considering this is scored in the same region as Ghibli films, you're going to be sorely disappointed if you're expecting Ghibli standard, so if you're going to watch it, lower your expectations.
Overall it's a cute girly film that's well made, it's not close to being the masterpiece it is portrayed as. Solid chick flick, very mid film.

Not flawless but the flaws don't matter enough to give this any less than 10.
The scene setting, the OST, the world, the graphics, the story, the characters, the voice acting and the combat. It is an absolute beauty.
The reason it's so good is that everything I just mentioned all work together, the tone is set perfectly. It doesn't just gel, it's gorilla glued together in to a cohesive mass of almost video game perfection.
Negatives are invisible walls. A lot of bits look like they should be explorable and they're not but other than that it gives the feeling of watching a great film, in a stunning world, with great writing.
I went in expecting to be disappointed, as I don't really like turn based combat. Nothing disappointed. It paces perfectly, from introduction, to tutorials and the whole atmosphere is captivating. The OST is like Amelie but for an RPG, which fits the setting to perfection.
Battles are fun. The real time aspect to add power to attacks, or dodge/parry in defence, eliminates all that turn based boredom of sitting through animations, cos you're actually doing stuff throughout.
The dialogue is very full and varied but without sounding wordsmithy, like it's trying to throw every word in the dictionary at you. It keeps the tone modern enough to feel relateable, whilst not detracting from the period setting.
Where it shines is where I mentioned before with the cohesion, it combines all the elements to set the tone perfectly. Everything feels like it belongs. It will go down in gaming history.

For starters I had to turn it off and put youtube on to check my TV wasn't having a funny because it was so ridiculously dark. Turns out it's just bad filming.
Secondly the sound is pretty awful too. Bad music and sound placement in general.
The story is so slow. I'm 5 hours in and little of any substance has happened. It's like the Wish version of Kin.
Actors are actually pretty decent for the most part. A lot of them did well but the source material that they're performing is just amateur. Weird things in the story where the behaviour of characters doesn't align with the plot.
There are a few gangster moments, murders and what not that alter the path of the story but other than actual events like that, which are about one or two per episode, the story is pretty dead.
This should have been condensed to a long film like 3 hours because it is a very slow series and not that entertaining. I'd have been done after episode 1 but as my gf is watching it, I have carried on and I would happily have dropped by the end of ep2, 3, 4 and 5 too. There has been nothing that has changed and made me think oh it's just a slow burner, it's getting good now. It's still just bad.
Some actors have been great though, so I won't discredit the cast. Just the sound, film and writers.
