  • Had me in tears

I was crying by the end of the show.

Had Me in Tears Acapulco is a heartwarming Apple TV+ gem that had me weeping with joy. Set in a vibrant 1980s Mexican resort, it follows Máximo, a young dreamer chasing ambition while navigating love and family. The dual timeline, blending past and present, adds depth, with Eugenio Derbez's charm anchoring the older Máximo. The ensemble cast shines, their chemistry sparking laughter and tears. Lush visuals and a lively soundtrack evoke nostalgia, though some plotlines feel predictable. Its blend of humor, heart, and cultural pride makes it a feel-good escape that lingers long after the credits roll.

  • Get past the cali stuff good show

It's a great show if you can get past the weird California stuff.

The Rookie is a police procedural drama television series that premiered on ABC in October 2018. Created by Alexi Hawley, the show stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, a middle-aged man who decides to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer after a life-changing event. Set in Los Angeles, The Rookie combines action, drama, and occasional humor as it follows Nolan's journey from being the oldest rookie in the LAPD to becoming a seasoned officer.

The series begins with Nolan, a 45-year-old divorced man from Pennsylvania, who helps stop a bank robbery during a visit to Los Angeles. Inspired by the experience and realizing he wants more meaning in his life, Nolan moves to L. A. and enrolls in the police academy. Despite skepticism from others about his age and motives, he graduates and joins the LAPD as a rookie. His story is framed as a second chance, not only for a career but also for personal growth and redemption.

At the heart of the show is the dynamic between the rookies and their training officers. Nolan is assigned to Officer Talia Bishop in the first season, a tough and ambitious mentor. Other key rookies include Jackson West, the son of a high-ranking internal affairs officer, and Lucy Chen, a passionate and driven young woman trying to prove herself. They are guided by experienced officers like Angela Lopez and Tim Bradford, each bringing their own philosophies and approaches to training.

The show explores the personal and professional challenges that come with police work. Nolan constantly battles perceptions about his age, often having to prove himself capable of keeping up with younger recruits. His maturity and life experience, however, frequently give him an edge in judgment and empathy when dealing with civilians. Over time, his colleagues begin to respect his dedication and instincts.

Throughout the series, the characters face a variety of situations-from dangerous shootouts and high-speed chases to emotional crises and ethical dilemmas. The Rookie doesn't shy away from depicting the realities of modern policing, including tensions between law enforcement and the public, internal corruption, and the personal toll the job can take.

As the show progresses, Nolan's character grows. After completing his probationary period, he begins to mentor new officers himself. His relationships also evolve-particularly with Lucy Chen, with whom he shares a brief romance and a long-standing friendship, and later with Bailey Nune, a firefighter and paramedic who becomes a central figure in his personal life.

The series maintains a balance between procedural elements and character-driven storytelling. Subplots often delve into the lives of supporting characters, offering depth and insight into their motivations, fears, and aspirations. For instance, Tim Bradford's past as a military veteran and his struggles with loss give his tough exterior more nuance. Angela Lopez's journey through pregnancy and promotion to detective showcases the challenges of balancing career and family.

The Rookie also adapts to current events and evolving public conversations about law enforcement. In later seasons, the show introduces a police reform storyline, reflecting real-world calls for accountability and transparency. Nolan becomes involved in these reform efforts, showing a desire to make positive change from within the system.

Overall, The Rookie stands out for its unique premise-focusing on a protagonist who enters a demanding profession later in life-and its ability to blend intense action with emotional storytelling. It offers viewers a look at police work through multiple perspectives while maintaining a hopeful tone about the possibility of personal growth and institutional change. With its mix of drama, character development, and social relevance, The Rookie continues to engage audiences season after season.

  • Perfect child movie

Thank God for Ryan Reynolds. That non-political person who does not let it drag into his movies made another wonderful movie. A movie you can sit with your family and children 10 and under, and not worry about having to fast forward, pre-watch, pause, etc. My daughter loved the movie, I liked the movie as a person, loved it as a parent. Just a good heart feel-good movie.

Ryan Reynolds has consistently demonstrated his ability to create entertaining films that appeal to a wide range of audiences. His unique blend of humor, charm, and genuine talent shines through in each of his roles. This latest film is no exception. It is refreshing to see a movie that focuses on wholesome entertainment without relying on heavy-handed political messages or controversial themes.

In today's world, finding family-friendly movies that are both engaging and appropriate for younger audiences can be a challenge. Many films either contain content that is too mature for children or lack the substance to keep adults interested. However, Ryan Reynolds manages to strike the perfect balance. His movie offers a delightful experience for both kids and adults alike.

The storyline of the movie is captivating, with a plot that keeps you invested from start to finish. The characters are well-developed, each with their own unique personalities and arcs that contribute to the overall narrative. The film's humor is cleverly crafted, with jokes that appeal to all age groups without being inappropriate or crude. It's a rare gem in the film industry to find such a well-rounded and enjoyable movie.

One of the most commendable aspects of Ryan Reynolds' approach to filmmaking is his dedication to creating content that is inclusive and respectful of all viewers. He understands the importance of providing entertainment that can be enjoyed by families without causing discomfort or awkward moments. This commitment is evident in his careful consideration of the content he chooses to include in his films.

As a parent, I particularly appreciate the effort put into making this movie suitable for children. It is reassuring to know that I can sit down with my daughter and watch a film together without constantly worrying about inappropriate scenes or language. The positive messages and values portrayed in the movie are an added bonus, reinforcing important lessons about kindness, perseverance, and the importance of family.

Moreover, Ryan Reynolds' performance is, as always, outstanding. His ability to bring his characters to life with authenticity and charisma is one of the reasons he has become such a beloved actor. In this film, he once again proves why he is a favorite among audiences of all ages. His comedic timing, coupled with his heartfelt moments, creates a perfect blend that makes the movie truly special.

The film's production values are also worth mentioning. The cinematography is visually appealing, capturing the essence of each scene beautifully. The soundtrack complements the narrative perfectly, enhancing the emotional impact of key moments. Every aspect of the movie has been meticulously crafted to create an immersive and enjoyable experience for the audience.

In addition to the entertainment value, the movie also offers several teachable moments. It touches on themes such as friendship, loyalty, and the importance of staying true to oneself. These are valuable lessons for children and serve as great conversation starters for parents. It's wonderful to have a movie that not only entertains but also provides meaningful content that can help shape young minds.

In conclusion, Ryan Reynolds' latest film is a testament to his talent and dedication to creating high-quality, family-friendly entertainment. It is a movie that brings joy and laughter to viewers, providing a much-needed escape from the stresses of everyday life. Whether you are a fan of Ryan Reynolds or simply looking for a good movie to watch with your family, this film is a must-see. It is a reminder that there are still actors and filmmakers out there who prioritize wholesome content and understand the value of creating movies that can be enjoyed by everyone. Thank you, Ryan Reynolds, for giving us another reason to smile and for making the world of cinema a little brighter with your wonderful contributions. Your commitment to producing family-friendly films that are both entertaining and meaningful is truly commendable. This movie is a shining example of what can be achieved when talented individuals focus on creating content that resonates with audiences of all ages.
