Honestly, I guess this film is aimed at the 5-10 age group, and I think that makes it fine....ok....not too awful etc etc.
For a background film while you cook, it's ok. Difficult to follow anyhow when you sit and concentrate.
With the amount of well known names in this film, and the fact I love sci-fi, I was truly expecting and hoping for so much better.
People giving this a ten? Really? Have you never watched a film before, or think this is the height of sci-fi?
Acting for me was all good, even MBB whom I'm not a fan of. It's the story that lets it down. Lack of cohesion, lack of direction, absolute lack of compassion for any of the characters. :-(

I was so looking forward to this. I love all the actors appearing in it, and I love a good spy series. This, is not one of them. Knightley, for me, just doesn't fit the character. I love her as an actress but this isn't it. The story has holes left, right, and centre. It isn't tense. It isn't scary. I don't wonder about anything. I am not intrigued. There is a naked scene in the first program that just doesn't fit into the story, and felt like nudity for nudities sake.
It's fine...... but a waste of really talented actors. To for me. I appreciate others like it, but it feels like either the budget wasn't there, or they hurried the story to get it finished. :-(

So so many negatives. Firstly, if you are expecting an equivalent of the GBBO, you will be sorely disappointed. This, it is not. It's way way stereotypically American (negative). The introduction of the guests, the pretending it's all true (I mean Harry Potter etc is real, but not the elements in the show...), the over the top excitement.... Ugh!
If you LOVE Harry Potter, you should love this. It's the only thing that saves it for me. But if you only like Harry Potter, i suspect this isn't for you. I laughed, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. But not for baking, not for the presentation (yes I love the Weasley twins, but not the actors as presenters), and not for the overall production. Just for the HP connection, :-)
