I will say the 2025 release of the Naked Gun, was amusing. However, it doesnt come close to being as funny as the original Police Squad/Naked Gun movies. Without the Zucker brothers writing and directing, there is something missing. The comedy magic just isnt there.
Nothing in this movie was original. The evil plot was a literal copy/paste from The first Kingsman movie. They copied many gags from the previous movies, but they felt more like "Hey remember this from the original?" than actually being funny. They also blatantly copied jokes from other comedies, like Austin Powers. Honestly, the original gags in this movie were the worst part of it. For example, the coffee gag was amusing for a bit, but milking it the entire movie caused it to become tiresome. The non-lethal fight with civilians by kicking the gun's clip was fine once. However, creating an entire CGI scene out of it was a very poor choice. As for the owl scene, lets just pretend that didnt happen.
On paper, Liam Neeson is the perfect fit to play Frank Drebin Jr. However, Neeson plays the same character he always plays, which works very well in some parts and not so well in others. He can do angry and menacing and serious, but he cant do deadpan, which is what is required.
Pamela Anderson was an odd choice for the female co-star. They say this movie is a revival to her career. But... Was it? I think its safe to say she isnt known for her acting abilities. Dont get me wrong, she isnt terrible, but she isnt wowing anyone with her range or comedic timing. So, they relied on her sexuality to be a femme fatale? Well... No. While Anderson isnt young, at 58 she appears to have kept a youthful figure. Unfortunately, her "natural look" makeup job does her no favors. If I didnt know her age and was told she was 75, I would believe it. Its hard to make someone appear sexy, when they look like someone's great grandmother.

This show was an absolute mess. Was it a comedy? No, it wasnt funny. I didnt laugh once. Was it a law drama? No, the few court scenes were meaningless. Was it an action show? No, there was no action. Were the cameos good? No, they made existing and well liked Marvel characters look dumb. Did the show break stereotypes? No, every man in the show was portrayed as dumb and incompentent. Young women were ditzy. The fashion designer, of course, was a gay man. There was absolutely nothing redeeming about this show at all. The ending? Terrible. Was the 4th wall breaking good? No. While "technically" She-Hulk did it in the comics first, Deadpool did it better. There was nothing redeeming about this show. Disney/Marvel seems to have run out of ideas and writers and is simply going for quantity over quality, to appease movie goers and streamers.
I honestly dont have the vocabulary to describe how bad this show is. This show is cringe-worthy on so many levels. The writing on this show is so bad, so utterly idiotic, that it actually becomes fascinating. Its like watching a train wreck, you cant turn away. Its almost like the writers are playing a game with the audience, trying to see how far they can go.
