Clearly all reviews are strongly divided.
Those who have seen the fabulously clever and fun and funny original British show Friday Night Dinner - where things are clearer and madder in a very funny way.
Those who get American humour and have not been lucky enough to see the original version on which this is based, well, they might enjoy this copy.
It is a copy, like many other shows, of a British brilliantly funny show. They don't always copy well, but like with many things in life that depends on if you know the original version or not. If you do not then it could be funny. If you know the original, then you are simply comparing all the time.
That happened with The Office also, where imho the British original is far superior and stopped where it should have stopped. The American version was dragged out until there was nothing left in it at all - but there were still funny moments in that too.
If you are reading this and have not seen this nor the British version, then try to watch the original first. Or not.

I was quite disappointed in this - having only watched the gin episode, I won't be delving into any other "epic adventures" and I don't feel like I watched an epic adventure either. It just felt like a bit of a pretentious advert rather than an interesting tv show. And that's a shame really because it could have been more...
I rarely review but it's so nice to be able to come away positively surprised by a film.
Wasn't sure at first but it developed really nicely and earlier parts of the film did build the character backgrounds nicely.
And what a great trio - worked so well together on many levels.
I was not expecting to find it so funny. There were some suitably silly bits too - but all to be expected and as the credits rolled, I had a smile on my face - can't ask for more than that.
