Until recently, the last time I watched this movie in its entirety was just after finishing high school. Seven years later, I watched it again and I realized there's barely any overall plot in this movie, but it is full of individually amazing scenes with overlapping characters. It's a style somewhat reminiscent of Monty Python.
Almost every scene is a goldmine of quotes, many of which I'll find myself repeating until the day I did. It has a great balance of in-your-face comedy mixed with subtle quick witty humor.
It's not a story-driven film, which is understandably a turn-off for many. But the social commentary is golden. You get the petty squabbles between rich, out of touch, country club elites contrasted with the lives of the caddies and staff who make the place run while just trying to get by.
Only reason I didn't give this a 10 was because the beginning felt very rushed. Other than that, it just kept giving and giving.
What a fun little movie with a creative structure. It has a few tired tropes, but what rom-com doesn't? It's a cute, enjoyable comedy about love and weddings, and it doesn't need to be anything more than that.
