Typing this at the end of the movie in the theater: Ethan Hunt and his team continues an ever exciting and nerve wracking journey to do the work that no one else dares to do. The movie has a very solid pace: returning characters did a solid job fluffing up the story while introducing new ones. Hayley Atwell in particular put in a solid work as the new member of the IMF. Being part one, development for the new villain appeared somewhat lacking, but I trust that Part Two will answer all the questions.
With perhaps the last action segment taking a bit lengthy, the movie kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, and I think it's a must see in theaters.

This film is about life, about Taiwanese life. The songs the kids sing, the stuff relatives talk about when one comes home, or the political debates and turmoils that defined generations of Taiwanese people, are all part of that life. It does a phenomenal job depicting what everyone had to go through in order to achieve their dreams or watch themselves fail. If you wish to know what it feels like to be an ordinary person growing up in 70s Taiwan and beyond, watch this.
