Seventies, Eighties, or Ninties?
I came here to say that pet rocks are from the seventies, but pop rocks were definitely Eighties.. Rubik's cubes and boom boxes are definitely eighties. Some of the clothes that they took out were definitely Nineties. Hammer pants were in the nineties, but the dress is Eighties. African Kufi hat really was a nineties thing. The neon colors weren't really too popular until the nineties, the Eighties had more pastels, primary colors, and a few earth tones. The boom box was awesome. How about fanny packs? Both Eighties and nineties. I won't tell you who wins for best dessert.

Avoid this movie, unless you are studying film and you want to see how to make a terrible movie.
The lightning seems like they were making an after school special or an episode of Modern Family.
The acting is pretty dreadful, but I did take note of Diana Hopper, who has gone on to do some better work after this.
As I have said, an interesting study in how to really muddle the horror genre.
