Wow. This ep had everything including the kitchen sink! Harrison getting some serious screen time with his blonde beauty, always nice. Angel looking more and more unhinged as he goes. Poor guy. I feel pretty bad for how he's gonna turn out.
Dex though; he's as clever as ever, frustrated as ever as well, and still stubbornly sticks to his code.
I liked the other two dexter series, Dexter: Original Sin, the Dexter origin story, and of course New Blood, basically the setup to this iteration of Dexter. All that said, Resurrection feels like the original series never ended. Every beat is damn near perfect, and I, for one, and thrilled.
And that cliffhanger at the end of this ep? Oh boy, things are gonna get hot in the old town tonight.

Did these guys know they were flat out ripping off the folks behind Parts: The Clonus Horror? Seriously, the entire thing, start to finish, was like they took the script of Parts and just gave it a little technobabble rewrite, polished it up so it felt like a 2005 movie instead of a 1979 zero budget flick. I'm not going to go nuts with the praise for Parts, but I remember seeing it as a child of 12, and frankly I liked it just fine. The end where Richard's girlfriend turns around to greet him, vacant blank stare and lobotomy scar on her temple, was one of the most chilling scenes I've ever seen. I love that movie.
This movie? Absolutely, won't deny it's a good movie. But it's also 100% a ripoff of Parts. Shame for your unethical actions.

I know they got cancelled without much ado, but they did have 4 additional episodes to wrap the story up.
They did NOT stick the landing.
Don't get me wrong, it was a good episode. Loved the whole thing, right up until the end.
This did not feel like a satisfying end to the series. A season finale? Sure. But they left this thing so open ended, like they just lost the thread of what they were trying to do.
I had such high hopes for this show.
Please, don't misunderstand, the show was, and IS, great. I watched every episode with relish. Waited each week for the new episode to be available. Watched the calendar for the new seasons whenever they were announced.
If they could only have wrapped the story up correctly.
If they had a 5th season to work with, the ending here would be fine. It set up expectations for new episodes.
But there are no new episodes.
They should have wrapped it up with finality. Close the loop, finish the stories.
I could go on for days about Ben alone, and his exposure to the accelerator.
Meh. It was fine, but should have been better.
