  • I don't get the hate.

Is it the best historical drama ever, no far from it (wolf hall might be). It's not true to history, but remember history is always written by the victors. But this is far better than most other dramas on TV at the moment. Excellent cinematography, excellent locations, and some decent acting from its lead cast.

Now I totally understand the 'woke' comments about having races that just wouldn't be around in those days. We are just going to have to deal with that, I don't think that is going away, no the Earl of Mercia wouldn't be of Middle Eastern descent, but really what difference does it make to the show itself.

TV shows are not made for us viewers, no matter how much we would like them to be, they are made to make money whether that's by subscriptions or advertising money.

It's a fact that more people will watch a show like this if they can see themselves in it. We live in a multi-cultural society.

We have people from all around the world on our doorstep. If you find it disturbing that in a show about 959 years there may be people of colour in, please grow up,

  • I have upped my rating

I've just upped my rating from an 8 to a 9 on the strength of the season 3 episodes shown so far.

Please bear in mind this is the 'other' fantasy show on prime, and the first twenty minutes or so of the first episode of season three were simply putting it 'awesome' as my American friends would say.

It was as good as anything seen on the rings of power and anything on game of thrones or house of the dragon. Please note I am not including 'Battle of the Bar stewards' in this I simply do not think that will ever be beaten for action, suspense, and cinematography.

So if you haven't watched this show because you thought it to be the poor cousins of the other bigger fantasy shows, give it a go. Every season gets better and better, yes a lot of this is because the source material is also all finished and is excellent. (Kudos to @brandonsanderson for finishing it, and major shade thrown to GRRM, for 'having more important things to do' imagine how good GOT would have been if the books had all been done and 'the dans'' hadn't had to resort to making stuff up. Again excluding BOTB, that was immense

    Anyway that's my rant over.
