Season one was amazing and criminally underrated. Unfortunately not the same can be said about season 2. There's a myriad of flaws with this season but the one that stands out from the very beginning is that every single character behaves like a terrible person for no obvious reason. It's like the writers just assumed people would behave like that in an apocalypse instead of sticking together (as was ironically shown in season 1). What's the benefit of being a borderline sociopath?. Why is everyone so focused on fighting each other instead of trying to survive?. Which leads to the second flaw, which is the zombies just seem to take secondary place to the narrative. They're just background action in this season. The third major flaw is the acting. Not much can be said about this except it's very bland and one dimensional, but that may have been partly due to the writing of the characters. Over all this second season has been a bit of a letdown and even though the budget is obviously higher somehow the whole thing just feel cheeper.
I think this is the first time i disagree with the general consensus. The film was slow but it delivers with the plot. The character development was on point and the acting by Evan Rachel wood carried the movie most of the time. It's a bittersweet movie and while not perfect i think it's one lf my favourite to come out this year. Obviously it's not for everyone.
