Episode 4 of The Wheel of Time Season 3 delivers one of the most highly anticipated sequences from The Shadow Rising-Rand's journey through the glass columns of Rhuidean. This moment, central to both his character arc and the history of the Aiel, is beautifully rendered with breathtaking cinematography and an evocative performance by Josha Stradowski.
The episode excels in its worldbuilding, providing a rich and tragic look into the past of the Aiel. The shift from their peaceful origins to the fierce warriors they become is handled with emotional weight, making it one of the most compelling backstory reveals in the series. The visual representation of Rhuidean is particularly striking, capturing the city's otherworldly mystique and the surreal nature of Rand's visions.
However, the episode isn't without its flaws. The pacing feels rushed at times, compressing a deeply layered storyline into a single hour. While book readers may appreciate the depth of the lore, casual viewers could find the exposition overwhelming or difficult to follow. The series has often struggled with balancing its complex mythology with accessible storytelling, and this episode is no exception. Additionally, some deviations from the source material-though perhaps necessary for adaptation-may frustrate longtime fans.
Overall, this is a strong but imperfect episode. It shines in its ambition and visual storytelling but stumbles slightly in execution. For those invested in Rand's journey and the broader history of The Wheel of Time, it remains a must-watch.

Kung Fu Panda 4 impresses with its stellar animation, delivering one of the greatest fight sequences in animation history. The film's humor surpasses its predecessors, contributing to an enjoyable experience and earning it a solid 8/10 rating. While the movie excels overall, it's worth noting that, despite its greatness, no villain quite matches the vile nature of Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 , underscoring the lasting impact of past antagonists on the series. The film successfully blends humour, action, and animation prowess, making it a worthy addition to the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Good watch for the family.
Yes. This was a phenomenal pilot episode setting up all that is yet to come. Now just hoping the writers don't rush the final season (hi GoT) and waste our time.
