Everything is said in the title.
For many years, as I was younger, I deliberately refused to see this. Watching life unfold in all it's drama for a poor country family proved of little interest to my younger self. Although, I always knew, without a doubt, that this is the best piece of Croatian film, and, one of the best series in the world, of any language, any time. I knew that, even at that age, because this is the only thing that would glue our parents and grandparents together jammed on a tiny couch, their eyes glowing with awe and head shaking affirmingly after every line spoken.
I've now seen it, and it was everything my younger self thought it would be.
