The plot may seem dated. But the buildup was great, as expected from an Abbas-Mastan action film.
Just the previous year, the elder Deol sibling had delivered a patriotic mega-blockbuster in the form of a war epic named BORDER(1997). The younger Deol struck his own form of patriotism in the form of a suspense thriller which left audiences pondering till the last half hour where his allegiances lay. Well, they lay with India, and what better way than clearing the name of your ill fated Army officer father accused of treason.
Just one complaint, they shouldn't have dubbed Preity Zinta's voice.

A film directed by a woman who unapolegectically signed a petition to have ajmal kasab's death sentence be commuted to life imprisonment can be undoubtedly expected to display the entire Hindu community as barbarians who relished in the carnage of the Gujarat riots. It was the trend throughout the crooked regime of Manmohan Singh to keep this issue on the forefront when the own backyard of the ruling government was involved in facilitating a reign of terror for a complete decade.
And Nandita Das is the same wannabe who had called for THE KASHMIR FILES to be banned outright. Hypocrisy knows no limits for such characterless creatures.

The third chapter of the much loved comedy series lives upto it's credentials. The premise might seem outlandish to most, but that's what makes the Fukrey so much more watchable.
In the first outing, they took on the drug and prostitution mafia. The next time, they took down a lottery scam racket. This time around, they're in for a cause rather than personal gain or getting trouble off their backs.
Choocha is one such character who can make even the devil scratch his head or simply fall for him. Alongside him are Honey and Panditji, who can make even American Presidents look amateur when it comes to negotiating. And Lali, well his haplessness makes damsels in distress from yesteryears superhero films seems more like the protagonist's sidekick. And of course there's Bholi, who's a Jack Sparrow into organised crime.
Missed Zafar, sadly his schedule didn't permit him to commit him to this adventure, sorry misadventure :). In all, it was a refreshing joy ride.
