This film was very good and did show the book well but I just didn't feel as drawn into this film. I do think the constant change of characters are confusing and they all seem new again even through they only look different. I understand they do this to show they have aged but with make up I believe you could have done that to the previous Chris and Cathy as I think they were much better. I did like Cathy in this film but I do not feel Chris looked like what he should in the books. They are meant to be the 'Dresden Dolls' but I think it is Chris' hair maybe, he just does not fit the Doll. I do think the children fit very well though. Apart from that the film was enjoyable I just wouldn't be in a rush to watch it again. :)
I absolutely loved this film.I don't normally enjoy sequels more but this is brilliant and better than the first. I have been a fan of the book series for many years and have read them several times, then by accident I came across the films. I watched the first one and was impressed when it did the book justice but I still felt there were parts that could have been portrayed better. But this film blew me away. I would watch it again and again. I felt it showed the book well and did miss much, obviously there are still part that have to be missed due to film not being able to be hours and hours long but the way they cut it to make it into a film I felt was great. The only part I was disappointed at was the beginning. The book continues from the previous where as the film started a little bit way through so you did miss little bits but if you haven't read the books you wouldn't know and if you have you would understand why they missed it out as it didn't really hold any importance.
I was very impressed with this film. I came across this film by accident as I was just checking the order of the next book after starting to re read the series again and thanks to google suggestions it came up so I had to google it further. Being a big fan of the books for many years and having read them several times, I was slightly concerned the film would not live up to the books and without fail there was parts that I though should have been added or that could have been portrayed better but none the less I was still impressed with the film. A few years ago I watched the other adaptation of the book and was very disappointed as it was shocking and did not do the book any justice. But in this version I felt the actors played the parts well and I felt just as addicted to this film as I do the books and would happily watch it again.
