I don't usually do reviews but felt this one needed it .The movie is good as a standalone version of Peter Pan , but I was expecting the storyline to resemble the animated counterpart and this didn't resemble it at all . None of the original songs were in this , only new ones. There were however brief snippets of original tunes throughout . The original animated feature , was my all time favourite Disney movie but this in my opinion will stand amongst all the other Peter Pan movies . Jude Law who played Captain Hook was excellent in his role , but again didn't even resemble his animated version . So although I enjoyed it , I was very disappointed at the same time ,
I don't normally do reviews but this gem of a movie deserves it .
The cast is perfect . In my opinion James Corden does not deserve the backlash he has from so called critics for portraying a gay character even though he is straight . He played his part brilliantly as did Meryl Streep and everyone else.
I love Musicals and thought I was well up on Broadway and the West End but have to admit I've never heard of this one. I'm glad I do now . This is so funny , Heartwarming and feel good. It had me laughing and Crying too . Very Well done to all involved .
