  • Nice watch some great performances

It's a thriller where you kind of already know who the killer is, but the story and screenplay hold your attention till the very end.

Mathew Rhys is mind blowing as the central character Niles Jarvis. He never plays the character as one-dimensional, you can see his empathy and dejections despite the inherent psychopathic nature.

This is such a great performance.

Claire Danes is good but I was confused in some scenes by her face contortions. What is she trying to portray!

Brittany Snow is fantastic in all her scenes. She is not some dumb blonde who married a rich suspected killer for money but has smarts and integrity.

The disappointing character in the series was Detective Abbott. Why does he always have a hangover look and his actions are all questionable with terrible results? The actor was quite one-dimensional in his portrayal.

Also was disappointing Aggie's decision to reconnect with her ex-wife. The lady was completely unsupportive and didnt trust her one bit despite spending about a decade with her. Compare this to Nina who knew her just for some months and helps her in the end.

    Overall a good watch.

  • Skip this and watch the original "The War of Roses"

The locations and house are beautiful. One seriously wanted to see more of same than the cast. Both Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Coleman are great actors but a screenplay which doesnt work much and a complete let down of a side cast, they can only carry it so far.

The biggest plus in "The War of Roses" was the excellent chemistry between Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. One simply cannot see an extremely good looking Cumberbatch falling for an ordinary looking Coleman in real life. We dont watch Olivia Coleman for her looks but her great talent. So the situation of their love and marriage itself feels forced.

And the writers seem to portray the jealousy of Cumberbatch as the prime reason and the busy life of Coleman as other for their gradual separation. Frankly if Cumberbatch had a successful career and Coleman was at home, it would never be a problem as per the screenplay. Its not Coleman's fault that she is super successful and the main way she connected with her kids was food, which she is deprived of, thanks to the fitness fetish instilled by her husband.

The so-called friends are equal to enemies, they are jealous and not supportive of the couple in anyway. In fact the couple seems to have no one except themselves, no parents, siblings, relatives or any genuine acquaintances.

The only other actor who shines is the lawyer with the dog. Kate Mckinnon is horrible in every scene she comes. She is neither funny nor completely creepy, adding nothing to the movie. Please stick to the low grade comedy you do with SNL and not mess up such movies.

Going to rewatch the original to erase memories of this mess.

  • Pulls you in, gets better and better - Great cast

I was really not planning to get hooked to this, as I am not into cop shows. But I just finished Season 3 and I can say its a show worth watching.

I have not read the book series though I have read Karin Slaughter. Understand there are some deviations from the book which means I am not reading the books as I like the show characters.

Erika Christensen steals the acting credits from rest of the brilliant cast. I love how the character is written and portrayed. Emmys have become a joke and her not being recognised proves it. The actors playing Ormwood and Amanda are also very good.

Ramon Rodriguez is great as Will but I find other character stories more interesting in this series. Every Season finale has been fantastic and I would probably rate Season 2 one my favourite episode.

Highly recommed a watch for quality writing and great acting.
