The entire cast is great. The story is awesome as it gives you perspective as to what parents/families of the perpetrator go through. It also shows how anger is so easily passed down from one generation to the next. As a kid of parental violence, I, learned anger from the abuser. As a result, I opted to not have children as I did not want to do to them what was done to me. At least I was afraid I might. As in many movies/shows we get to see the danger of social media. Years ago there was a talk show in which adults were taught the lingo of kids. Now, it is so much worse with the use of emojis, or at least that is how it seems.
Best dramatic series I have seen in a while.

I have been listening to Smartless in which they mentioned Bateman's appearance many times i prep. For this movie. Each time I grew more excited for this movie.
It aired tonight on Netflix and it had to be watched. I waited all day to finish work, get home, get a drink and watch me some Bateman. I do not know of a bad movie he has been in. I have been watching him since his tv premiere in Little House on the Prairie.
Look on IMDB to see the cast and ratings. As soon as I saw Dean Morris was in the movie I was crest fallen. His movies are not stellar. The rating was not great.
About half an hour in, I felt it was not going to live up to my expectations.
The acting was mediocre. Bateman's was very disappointing.

I wanted to like the show as a fan of Cheers then the original Frasier, but, I just cannot.
The laughtrack is terrible and sounds an original one from decades ago. The acting is very poor. In one scene Freddy runs out of the room and I could almost read the script INT. FREDDY'S APARTMENT/LIVINGROOM Frasier speaks to Freddy. Freddy turns and runs out of the room.
The characters do not make sense, perhaps they do as the story progresses. The comedy is not funny, albeit a bit amusing in parts, but the genre is not "a bit amusing".
I hope for all involved it gets better and makes sense. Unfortunately, with so much great tv, I cannot waste any more time to find out.
So sorry to Kelsey Grammer and Jim Burrows.
