  • Way, Waaay Too Complicated; even Agatha Christie had to . . .

. . . turn it off from the grave.

Good lord, could you write a murder plot any more complicated than this one? Maybe the writer enjoyed writing this, but it just shows disdain for your viewers when you don't even give them a snowball's chance in Hades to (1) follow the plot(s), let alone (2) give them a fair chance to figure out whodunnit on their own. No chance of either here in this overly-long farrago.

The first seven episodes tried the patience enough but there was enough humor to keep me coming back for the next ep, but I have to say Episode 8 was the most boring and laughable overly-long explanation of a super-complicated plot that I have ever witnessed. I turned it off twice and had to come back the next day(s) to find out at the end who actually dunnit. Not that I cared by that time.

Have a little more respect for your audience next time and give us a fighting chance. This one wasn't fun.

  • Terrific realistic ending for an excellent film!

What more could you ask for than a well-written, beautifully-acted thriller with several twists and turns and not a car chase in sight! I loved everything about this old-school suspense shocker that takes you along for a top-notch religious film experience.

Could Ralph Fiennes have been.any better? With minimal dialogue but a face that speaks a thousand words, Mr. Fiennes holds the screen and the movie together every second of the way. And the supporting cast is up to the task as well.

And the realistic ending (rare, but definitely exists) is the perfect surprise coda for this contemplation of the misogynistic Catholic Church today.

  • Where is Rudolph?

Having watched this wonderful Christmas film at least a dozen times over the past years, with our children and now with our grandchildren, I have almost nothing but good things to say about it. And the kids of course love it! (I do get a little irritated with the hobo up on the roof of the train cars, but maybe that's just me.)

But I do have one important question: At the end of the film when Santa rides off in his sleigh to deliver the gifts, there is no Rudolph at the front guiding the sleigh with his "nose so bright." Why did Rudolph get canceled in this otherwise delightful holiday film? Anyone?
