Although I watched the whole series in bits and pieces, and here and there, since I had questions needing answers due to their excellent sprinkling of clues throughout the beginning episodes that peaked my interest, it was one of the most boring and repetitive series that I felt compelled to watch through to the end. The most repetitive part was them asking each other over and over and over again, time after time after time, in every episode, how each of them are doing, but not a one of them would ever give an answer . "Avoidance of the Vampire Lovers" should be the name of this series and not "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls".
The acting is plain, dry and monotonou. But, this is the director's fault. At the same time, the plot is one that is mysterious and thrilling, but fails badly in its delivery except for the very first 2 and last 2 of the 16 episodes, because of the actors' unenthusiastic & lackadaisical performances. If there had been different, and moreover, vigorous and passionate acting guided by a dynamic director who actually felt the writer's/writers' intentions, this series would've garnered top ratings.

I watched this from the beginning to the end and found it extremely entertaining. Although few in the US have had the pleasure of doing the same, I think that you will be quite please with your time spent watching this fantasy from one end to the other, too. I like it so much that I will be watching it again, because only the Asias can give fantasy the special effects, beauty, and showmanship it deserves, plus the drama, mystery and action of it all! My actual regret is that there are no more episodes to it.
So pull up a seat and spend a weekend with your most serious side of drama, bowls of popcorn, you're bunny bone and of course a box of Kleenex, and enjoy watching this series the way it deserves to be consumed.

Who would have expected top of the line actors to turn out a movie that sucks like this one? For me, it's right down there on the bottom of the barrel of Hollywood's worst made flicks. It literally took me almost 12 hours of going back and forth to watch the whole thing, which I did out of respect for Alexander Skarsgard, hoping that something would happen wherein he would turn the movie into something palatable, which he never did. My advice? Don't watch it. Watch anything else or even better, find something meaningful to do. If you do decide to ignore my advice, and when u realize that your eyes can't unsee what they just saw, remember, OKAY - - I told you so!!!
