  • Not bad, but WTF happened to Eminem?

I was a Stan in the sense that back in late 90s and throughout 2000's I had every album and knew all lyrics. We looked up to Eminem as representatives of people who looked like us in the hip hop culture . His lyrics were bar none the best out there. He was better than Jay-Z who at the time was considered the top rapper. It's always debatable, but what wasn't was that Eminem was on fire and his first couple of albums were just ridiculous from beginning to end really. This documentary is cool and more sappy really than anything else. I know he cleaned up but I really feel like he went liberal and woke like many other rich and famous entertainers and movie stars over the last 5 years. He became someone who I don't really believe he is. I dont believe half these Hollywood elite snobs actually believe or live the nonsense they pretend to stand for now. I think they are all scared to get cancelled and now that woke is dead they just scared to look like sellouts so they stick with the BS. Anyway, the documentary is a fans wet dream, if you are still even an Eminem fan. I mean I don't really know much of his work passed 2015, and anything past 2010 isn't great anyway. Eminem is corny now.

  • Did I miss something?

I had a lot of promise for the 3rd movie of the franchise after so long a break. My god was I disappointed. It was like a zombie art house film. Lots of gore and kills which is great. I mean that's what people want to see, but I found the story kind of rushed and at times boring. Now if this is the first of a few new movies into the franchise of 28 days later I guess I can understand a bit more of the feeling of unfinished storyline. The strange music and flashback play I found kind of annoying also. The part with Ben Kingsley was incredibly odd, and the boy spike and his mom's quest seemed sort of mundane. After Spike arrives home with his father and then embarks on his journey away from his village is where it kind of went down hill for me. The first 40 minutes I found very good. The 2nd act and finale I'm not crazy about. As far as the zombies or infected go it was pretty cool. To see how they changed over the years but the one having a normal baby was a bit much. Then again if there are more movies to come I'm sure this would be a major part of the next installment plot. Overall though I was not impressed unfortunately.

  • Taraj Phenson outstanding, but mixed message

As always Taraj P Henson is outstanding. Shes one of the best actors in Hollywood in my opinion. The movie starts out very good and tense.the story is typical of a hostage style bank robber who's had a bad day formula. It is pretty much an all black cast and that is cool being a Tyler Perry movie. It highlights the difficulty of a single black mother who is trying desperately to take care of her sick child in a world where nobody cares about her or her child. She is just in a terrible situation that only seems to get worse as the day goes on. It's nothing super original in that aspect. I guess where the message gets a bit mixed is that just because someone is on hard times and is having a terrible day or whatever doesnt make it ok to go into a bank with a gun and pull it on a bank teller for not cashing your check due to policy procedures. I get the feeling that Tyler Perry goes for us to feel bad and even look past a crime because it is a black woman . I mean people of all colors go through the exact same thing and is someone supposed to be totally forgiven because they are a minority? In the film a she cuts off a white cop on her way to her daughters school and of course he is a racist who drives her off the road and then tells her if he sees her again he's going to shoot her right in front of a female white officer who tells the white male cop to leave but still writes her a ticket that Taraj Henson character can't affords. I mean that is totally a ridiculous premise and we all get tickets we can't afford and again, is the officer supposed to not give her a ticket because she is black ? It just seems like the message is if you are a minority going through a hard time then you should be forgiven or given a break over others because of the color of your skin and that should not be the case. I'm sure people will think I'm being offensive, and I get that things are different between minorities and law enforcement but I don't understand really the message that Tyler Perry is going for if it is in fact that somehow because of race that it's ok to commit crimes and take people hostage because someone is going through a hard time in life. It's a fine movie and I enjoyed it but this mixed message I'm sure does not go unnoticed by many people.
