I was really looking forward to this series, especially with Aldi's Hodge as lead. What a huge disappointment the show is. Called it quits midway through the 2nd episode. I found much of this an insult to African Americans. Series does not reflect the tone of James Patterson's Alex Cross books. The actors definitely work hard but the manner in which they are directed is woefully lacking. The language is another issue. I get the use of language for certain parts of acting and scenes, but here it's used as a extremely broad characterization of entire race of people, as if only a few have been educated beyond the 5th grade.

Disappointingly, this is a waste of time.

One of the finest pieces of filmmaking I've seen. A increasingly elusive find in a world filled with mindless bloodshed, torture, foul language from start to finish, or backstabbing greed and revenge. Those that complain of the series pace are the same that would not savor a fine meal, a beautiful picture or the special light of the late afternoon sun. Ewan McGregor deserves an Emmy award for his performance as well as the series itself. If you are trying to decide whether to watch A Gentleman in Moscow, let's just say you will deeply regret it should you choose to move on. Here's to hoping that this will be available for purchase shortly.

1st season was great, funny, terrific acting, just a real joy & pleasure to watch. 2nd season, good but not quite what the 1st season offered. 3rd season except for a number of the same familiar faces no more resembles the 2nd season much less the 1st than a hotdog in the bun resembles beef wellington. What is the horrid thing that is being passed off as Only Murders in the Building? The acting is stilted, there is zero feeding off of the cast between each of them. It's as if people were brought in off the street and told to read off of teleprompters. Whoever wrote season 1, please bring them BACK!
