I loved this series. It's stylish, refreshing filmmaking and a great example of how television mini series can be better than cinema. The look of this series is like no other. The filmmakers take advantage of all that today's technology has to offer without letting it get in the way of the story.
It's also an interesting exercise in period filmmaking. It goes in a very bold direction, quite unlike most costume dramas the Brit's are known for. It also shows what you can be done when the filmmakers are in control, instead of a bunch Hollywood studio idiots imposing their dumb ideas and "audience testing" bullshit on the creatives. Hooray for Tom Hardy. Please sir, could I have some more?
