There isn't anything particularly innovative concerning this film. I will give credit that they at least created an alien invader, or more than likely weapon, that was interesting.

But, the hero did all the same actions you've seen from similar your films. Pratt's performance was good, nothing stellar.

I seriously couldn't stand the comedic actor. Comedic value isn't necessary when a person or group of people are literally running for their lives.

Tension between the "squad" leader and Pratt did add a surprising element. Which added a real complement of valuable drama to the film.

Worth a watch but definitely won't be something I'd make a habit of viewing regularly.

Literally, just watching or reading about real life experiences which reflect the characters lives could have perhaps helped this film.

But, they decided to move ahead with personalities which don't reflect reality, leading to a farcical movie.

If you have experience with loners, drug users, or the slightly inept, you'll see quite quickly how this film was produced by those with no experience with any of them.

Each of these things could be experienced through other types of medium, even movies. But, you need to understand them to appropriately interpret them into your own understanding and film.

The acting is terrible, can't state that clear enough. But, the actual plot line of events is more realistic than the uber-futuristic / fantastical events you receive from the AI movies before and after it. Instead of expecting all effects and better acting, pay attention to how you and those you know, would act in this situation.

I'd expect it would be pretty similar to this story line but with more emotion and intent than these actors can actually portray.

It's perfectly acceptable to watch something which isn't "A" class and still appreciate it the originality that it brings to a genre which is over saturated because the story is all to relevant to the current events of "real time."

"M3GAN" was cute and all but predictable in a way which showed how much it was based on a somewhat obvious template.
