  • A British made Hallmark type movie?

As a Yorkshireman, I feel ashamed to say that I've seen this film!

I've seen better acting in amatuer dramatics productions!

    And the Yorkshire accents?

Now bear with me while I say that ...

    I'm not from North Yorkshire.

However I am from West Yorkshire, so I know a fair bit about Yorkshire accents!

And I've been to various places in North Yorkshire, on many occasions - including Filey, Knaresborough, Scarborough, Whitby, York and many other places!

So I can say with great surety, that the accents featured in this film are terrible!

The only believable accents are those of the sort of background characters, who seem to have been played by actual locals.

None of the main characters seem to be able to pull off, an anywhere near decent Yorkshire accent!

    Also ...

Why are we making the kind of terrible movies that you usually find on Hallmark and similar channels in the US?

We already get those terrible types of movies broadcast here, so we don't need to be making our own!

And Leeds Bradford airport, isn't served by a steam train!

A basic search online should tell you that no such train exists!

Yes there is a steam train, but it takes you around the North York moors and it's national park!

It doesn't go to Leeds Bradford airport, which is in West Yorkshire anyway!

1 star for the beautiful Yorkshire scenery.

½ a star for the accents of the sort of background characters, who seem to have been played by actual locals.

So my score has to land on ...

1½ out of 10, rounded up to 2 because IMDB doesn't do halves!

  • That's an hour and half of my life, that I won't get back!

There's something to be said for Asylum movies.

They kinda pull you in, cause you wanna see how bad their other releases are.

And this one was no different.

From the moment this was recommended to me as one of those so bad it's actually good films, I wanted to see how bad it was.

I knew it was a ripoff of Prometheus (which is a much better film) or at the very least almost identical.

I actually thought they could be right, and that it could be one of those so bad it's actually good films - which you can usually get a laugh out of because they're so terrible.

I was told it was an Asylum film - and since I had seen some of their earlier films, I went in to watching it with really low expectations.

Somehow they've managed to go even lower than I thought they could.

This isn't even one of those so bad it's actually good films - it's just terrible full stop.

No laughs to be found here - just a pity for anyone else who had to sit through this shite.

That's an hour and half of my life, that I won't get back!
