So this is the ending of the first Dune 2021 movie. Paul and his mother have just met the Fremen and have become one of them. Having seen the 1984 movie and the mini series from 2000 and 2003 it's going to take this new Dune franchise many more movies to tell the entire story. I'm surprised this wasn't purchased by Netflix and made into a miniseries like a lot of the other classics they've adopted.
So far though the cinematography is quite spectacular and the acting is really quite good. The story content however, I think is lacking. They do a good job of explaining the plot line, but miss out on an awful lot of the detail that I found really interesting in the previous iterations of the story specifically the 2000 and 2003 scifi version. BTW to all you hard-core Dune fans watch the 2000 and 2003 mini series version of this story. To date it stands as my favourite.

I so love the series The Last Kingdom! It was exciting, adventurous, historic (somewhat) and great cinematic entertainment! So now after 5 seasons a movie is supposed to satisfy us. I wish the producers and directors would not see this as a sequel because it's not really. I see this as just Season 6 Episode 1.
Many popular series do this e.g. Downton Abbey and Star Trek to name a few. Many of us watch these series because we want to dive into a big story with lots of plots and twists. A Movie is just a flash in the pan. Perhaps the thinking here is that there will be another Movie or two that Utred can star in. Perhaps Utred grandson of Utred! I'll still be watching but really guys ... another season would be my choice! Think about it 🙂

Am a big fan of crime movies. This movie had A list actors and the Mikey Cohen story has been told many times before. I was disappointed to see the level of gratuitous violence needed to tell the story. Each scene gorier than the last. Too bad the writers and directors couldn't tell this story without sinking to this level. Not worth your time.
