Okay. Maybe it's the cynic in me, but this movie. By the end I was literally laughing out loud. Jon, this guy... he's got a borderline psychotic disorder. He starts out an entitled moron, then evolves into decent guy, then quickly descends into a manic episode with some mild stalking tendencies. I did like the female lead... and the rest of the cast, actually. This movie has an Indie/Hallmark feel, which isn't terrible but the story with the main character... I was almost yelling at him through the tv sometimes. It was pretty insane. So, two stars for the idea of the movie and the supporting characters.
This movie is so much more than the little synopsis provided, "Short on funds, a guy hatches a plot to scam the owner of a lost credit card." That's a small portion of the big picture, which is truly about the main character and his utter slackerness. There are some scenes that feel a tad slow, but it's all to build the hilarity and pure genius of the film. I burst out laughing several times. Will watch again!
First, I was recently talking about how I've been on a 90's drama kick, and this movie was on the list. Right off the bat the 90's nostalgia drew me in. But it wasn't long before I realized this movie was real. Artistic in areas (a.k.a. could be considered "cheesy" by today's standards...) but my God if you've ever been in a tumultuous relationship... this movie seems as if it was written straight from someone who lived this very situation. It was a beautiful movie. Brilliant. Thank you.
