While only based on a true story, it has an honesty that doesn't sugar coat the events. The penguin is cute and acts really well as working with animals can be challenging.
I doubt some of the events could have happened but they are not so unrealistic that it detracts from the storyline.
As the story unfolds, we get to see the harsh realities of Argentina at that time and yet the warmth of the human spirit in the main characters.
The main actor Tom is portrayed realistically, as many would be in the circumstances he has been through and is experiencing.
It left me feeling good as I left the theatre.

I went to see the movie at the local cinema due to my wife's suggestion but I was concerned it was the type of movie I would later wish I didn't bother to go and view. Not my cup of tea so to speak.
Instead, I was glad I did. It made me feel I was in the Champagne region and the acting seemed in keeping with the French way. It was in my eyes a realistic portrayal of events and the region.
I knew nothing of the person(s) or the Champagne brand but a little research beforehand helped. In any movie covering someone's life there has to be a balance with what parts are emphasised and I was happy with the mix in that regard.

Sequels to an original are rarely as good and this one fitted that category. It reminded me of the Mama Mia movie but not quite as enjoyable. The story seemed to lack some spark and felt predictable. Toward the end I was wondering how much longer it was going.
Having said all that, it wasn't terrible either. My wife enjoyed it more than I did but she is rarely disappointed by a movie. So for some it will be good, for me just OK but lacked a spark that gave the impression it was one sequel too many.
Overall it lacked originality and the script gave the impression the writers were out of ideas.
