The first episode did not feel on point. Like everyone was trying to find their footing, which mainly is referred to the directing. But the setup was nice enough and since then all the players are warmed up and the last couple of episodes were excellent.
This is very much in the same park as moonlighting, Castle, Bones and similar shows with two very likeable leads going on adventure and spy things.
The difference is that here most play out internationally, or in Europe mostly. Plus we already have years and years of character development which help a lot.
Very happy with his show, better than I expected. It is a lot of fun to watch, have several cool moments and the premiss and story holds up enough interest to also be intriguing in the long run.
I give the show (so far) a weak 8 out of 10. Most of the weakness comes from the setup and the first episode which was not as solid as the rest.
I will continue watching for sure. I missed this type of shows and hopefully it holds up going forward.

This is not bad. In fact mostly I enjoyed myself and even smirked on several occasions. This is very charming with likeable (but underdeveloped) characters and mostly its a fun watch.
With that said this is messy and the very intense cartoonish style just throw you around and daze you. Which, together with the weird pacing, make the movie a very strange watch. This feels like it was written and directed by a hyperactive 14yo with coffee pouring into their body intravenously. But the director is a 15yo named Mary Jane so we get a lot of (sudden and short) slow moments too. But those moments are too short and not good enough to allow us room to breath or bond with the characters and story. Instead it is off to coffee-induced fast-pace hyper-activeness 2sec later.
This weird pacing make it hard to get to know the characters. Basically only 1 or 2 with a decent arc and good story, the rest are either just there or we only get half their story. The movie feels incomplete.
I also never got the feeling that had urgency nor that there ever was a real threat.
The songs are okay, the story (what little we get) is okay, the characters (underdeveloped) are okay, the animation is okay. Everything is okay and kinda fun, but that is simply not good enough.
I give it a very generous 5/10 because I did have fun watching, but anyone claiming this is a great movie is most likely lying.

This show is the biggest surprise of the year. And very possibly the best show of the year.
This turns everything New Blood did and flips it over. From garbage to close to masterpiece. Jack Alcott, who was horrible as Harrison in new blood, is here an acting genius. Together with Uma, Peter, Michel and all the rest this is one of the best acted shows I have seen in years. The storytelling is superb, the directing masterful, the sound and sets beyond approach. We also get two really good police detectives who can think, wow, when did that happened last?
This also feels fresh, fun, entertaining, and has that raw adult humour which was a center piece in the original series.
I will not give this a 10/10 until they stick the landing of the show, but if they do, this will be not just the TV of the year but one of the best ever made.
The only tiny little negative I can mention is Batista showing up. He is not necessary. The other detectives are doing a great job and it feels like the show is only milking nostalgia. However David is always a treat so cannot complain too much.
Highly recommend. 9/10.
