  • A Stomping Good Time!

Those who diss this fine film most likely did not grow up in the 1950's B4 CGI & all those computer special effects! Nahh THIS film's special effects were done by hand! I love this 1959 Gem with all its flaws it still entertains me n brings back memories of my 1950's childhood. Gene Evans is most convincing along with his great British co-star, Andre Morell and the beautiful Leigh Madison n her partner John Turner- who is the last surviving cast member!! No computers just a fun monster stomping thru London n creating Havoc!! This is a great film to enjoy on a rainy day with a big bowl of popcorn and for less than two hours be transported to a simpler time n place!! Sooo please don't compare this film to recent ones just enjoy it for when it was made--1959! Happy viewing all you 50's monster lovers!!!

This incredible episode one of my most favorites should bring a tear to anyone who has a heart and had a teacher whom they felt improved their life! This episode of warmth & fantasy should be seen by ALL SENIORS in High School b4 they graduate!! Very highly recommended!!! The cast is wonderful and for me, Donald Pleasance..this is his BEST acting part!!!!

  • You can't phone home anymore..

I loved Ray Milland in THE UNIVITED( 1944) where he dealt with Ghosts, now he along with Frankie Avalon & Jean Hagan, he is dealing with the end of the World! Being made during the Cuban Missile crisis n when people like my neighbors were building bomb shelters in their backyard, this is a pretty intense film for its time. It's too bad they didn't show the actual after effects of the bombings to make the film even more realistic n gloomy, maybe pics of the Hollywood Sign laying out by Sunset Blvd. Or the Golden Gate bridge laying in the ocean to really show the effects of the end of the world . Overall this film is a grim reminder we all live in the nuclear age n today in 2024 the threat of WW3 is even more threatening!

One part that could of made the film more intense is when they stopped at the SADDLE PEAK LODGE if you notice people are smiling and acting like it's just another beautiful day in California! They should show people in a panic crying, stressed, instead of acting so calm . Otherwise I really enjoyed this film n it's done pretty well as society slowly unwinds and panic takes over!!
