I watched this film at DWF: LA. Most realistic festival family dramas fall flat for me, this one didn't. This had great production value and a narrative that was easy to follow.
This incredibly shot drama had gorgeous composed shots in a breathtaking location. I want to live where this was filmed, or at least have a time share! The drone shots played perfect in establishing the world in which this film takes place.
I understood and believed the actors in their grounded and "realistic" performances. Great performances across the board.
For those that want a more mature family drama, this will be right up your alley!

Films with this subject matter need to be told over and over again until they don't need to be told over and over again...only then should they stop.
It's a sweet story with some great performances, including the youngsters that delves into religion, the LGBTQIA community. Themes of bigotry, understanding, and standing up for oneself are explored by the filmmakers.
These filmmakers do not shy away from exploring some very important topics and I look forward to see what sensitive topic these filmmakers approach next.
The production value was on point in pretty much every category, so kudos to the team all around.

I had a chance to see this film at the Phoenix Film Festival. All I can say is be on the lookout for this director. This would be an incredibly impressive feature film debut for anyone, and then you learn the writer/director is only 24.
With fantastic production quality all around, this sensitive slow burning sci-fi shot meshes perfectly with the picturesque landscape. The subtle acting pairs perfectly with the simple father/son story with the always relatable themes of nature versus technology, family, immortality.
I look forward to seeing this director continue to challenge his creativity and grow as an artist.
