I love horror movies, and I think that, with only a few exceptions, I haven't watched a non-horror film for 3 years. Some of them were absolutely tremendous, some of them were decent and others were quite poor.
But none of them was absolute garbage. Well, Hosts it is.
The directing, writing, dialogue, cinematography, plot, sound mixing are disgustingly bad. You are sitting in front of your TV hoping that something will happen that will reedem this movie. Maybe one coherent plot point, maybe a decent piece of writing, maybe a good shot. Anything, really. It never happens.
I saw some people bashing the acting, but with this kind of incredibly idiotic directing and writing, you can't really blame them. The had absolutely nothing to work with.
The directors, writers and producers should be ashamed of themselves. In this times, when the movie industry is crashing and talented directors are scraping for a minimal budget, they just insult them by making this sorry excuse of a film.
The fact that this has 5.6 (actually a decent rating for a horror movie) is an absolute joke. If you're thinking of paying money for this, don't, just don't. Just drink them away or gamble.
2* just because I feel bad for the actors. Hope this doesn't end their careers.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best TV episodes ever. A masterpiece in cinematography, photography, sound design, storytelling and acting.
Everyone is talking about how Amy Adams should get an Emmy. If they watched Sissy Spacek's performance in this episode they would know that she is 'The Queen'. Far superior.
Castle Rock always had a Leftovers vibe, but in this episode they went full Leftovers. And they actually managed to equal the best episodes in that series. And this is high praise coming from me, considering that after 6 months (in total time) of watching TV shows, The Leftovers is still my favourite one.
Absolutely amazing! I hope Castle Rock continues to deliver.
Saw A Quiet Place for the second time last night and... it was better than the first time! Definitely one of the best (horror) movies of the last few years.
Phenomenal acting, great directing, INSANE sound design/editing. I'm not a big fan of jumpscares (and this film had a few of them), but they worked so good in this case. They needed to relieve the tension at some point, otherwise you will probably go insane.
Kudos to John Krasinski (formerly known as Jim from The Office) for directing, writing and acting.
This one is definitely a must-watch. And you should 100% see it in a theater.
