This is a fun, lively and enjoyable watch. Alice Eve is wonderful and quirky as lead. I only found out watching her recently in Iron Fist that she was Trevor Eves (Eddie Shoestring and Waking the Dead) daughter and a characristic of the family is that they are always 100% committed to their work. This is apparently the directorial debut of Alices brother Jack Eve and he keeps the pace fast and the music a great mix of classic 30's and modern which all fits perfectly. Wilf Scolding is perfect as the classic english detective. Brilliant movie, well worth seeing and deserves a sequel.

An extraordinary and moving story, based in fact about a tale of incredible endurance in the face of terrible adversity and brutality.

Brilliantly acted and very well directed. I have not read the book but it is pointless to compare a movie and a book or an apple and a pear or a car against a bicycle. Best to judge the movie on its own terms and I loved it.

Essentially it demonstrates well how humanity can survive in the face of the cruellest inhumanity. A long movie that seemed to fly by for me.

Everyone with an empathetic heart and open mind should watch this movie and you may feel a more humane and inspired person as a result.

I am 59 and I can be a hard critic but this was one of the greatest dramas I have ever seen.

The production, story, acting are all outstanding. Some people may not like the anti war sentiment. Yet this drama achieves the rare thing of managing to convey powerfully both the reasons why politicians can lead us to war and the horrors that then shatter the lives of those families who fall victims to it.

I have rarely been so moved by a drama. It has tragedy, pain, humour, humanity and above all it gives a us hope - Despite death, life must go on and we owe it to the those who have fallen to live it to the fullest.

If you decide watch this drama till the very end you may be lucky and feel as enriched as I did.
