Karam, directed by Vineeth sreenivasan is something different from him, something outside his comfort zone. The last time he did a thriller it was Thira and that one was really good. Karam on the other hand falls flat in all areas! I have seen many reviews saying the lead was miscast, I didn't feel so, the only problem here was the screenplay never gets us audience to connect with the hero or his feelings. Everything is done on a superficial level, even the scenes involving the lead is feels just fast forwarded. I hate to say this but this is Vineeth's worst work. Shan Rahmans music sounds like he was too lazy to make anything new and instead to mix some of his previous works, even some bits sounded like Thira! The editing is so fast, its like blink and you'll miss it, but thank God for that, I can't imagine sitting more than 2 hours for this film. The only positive thing I felt in this film is Baburaj's comedy. And to say that about a thriller is something!

Thrillers doesn't need dumb music all the time, silence and darkness can be effectively used to keep the audience on the edge, but Vineeth went and used songs, comedy and lot of wannabe mass scenes.

5 stars is for Baburaj only, of not for him then 1 star is this film's rating!!

Its not a complex film guys relax, the film was intended as a fun entertainer with lots dark humour and it works most of the time. A lot of reviews see this as some serious movie, chill out it is not. If you register it as a switch your brain off fun film then you'll have a fun time, if not as one review here said nothing will land for you. First half is filled with lots of fun moments, and by fun moments I mean lots of social media references, second half have less fun moments but it still ends nicely. Basil Joseph was fun to watch but I think more the screen presence is for the side characters.

Overall a fun watch.
