I had the privilege of meeting and working with Brian Ivie. He is one the most down to earth, gentle, and striking storytellers I know. Emanuel will move you to think beyond politics and leave you both broken because of the past AND hopeful for the future. The true story behind the victims of the Emanuel church shooting. Not just the ones who died, but the ones that were left behind. Heartbreaking. See the movie in an intimate setting with friends you can talk openly with. So important.

The show gets astronomically better as time goes on. The first few episodes were cringeworthy in their pacing, but the story builds like no other show I've ever seen. If you suffer through the first few episodes, the end result will be worth it completely. That being said if you'd rather not suffer through it, here are the important episodes to watch, all others are really just fluff. Great fluff, don't get me wrong, but for those who need the action to stay steady, this order will work.
