  • A Tease

Finally, a movie dedicated to Wolverine. We follow his origins, from his birth to when he loses his memory. Everything in between should have been a blast.

It's not a bad movie, but its not great either. It lands somewhere in the middle of, "its okay." The acting was amazing and they had a wide variety of famous actors. There was lots of action and many different locations. I loved that they brought in many new mutants and cool abilities. They even stayed true by connecting the X-men in there somehow. All of that was great. And yet the flaws of the movie almost out way the good.

There seemed to be confusion on what this movie should focus on. It needed to pick a point and dive in. Instead it gently grazes everything without really given something to sink our teeth into. It becomes a tease. I think the biggest flaw is wolverines mannerism. They say he's one of the greatest. One of the toughest. And yet they don't show it. They don't make him bad and gritty, but they don't make him good either. They made him too gentle. Too much kindness. How can someone willingly fight in every war possible, killing too many people to count and still be a happy, go lucky, sweetheart with a good heart and soul? I found Sabertooth took the attention from Wolverine. He held the spot light in most of the scenes because the writers gave him grit.

A lot of the plot makes no sense. Striker says wolverine was the best out of the team. Even Wolverine said he was the best "I'm the best at what I do. And what I do isn't very nice." And yet so many other mutants fought better then him. He barely did anything. They could have easily made the movie about the team and missions they did, which could have led to them making the perfect solider. Instead they teased us with it.

What they did to Deadpool was down right dirty and wrong. They could have given more Gambit time. He was a tease. They barely showed him. And what was with the extreme healing. In X-men and X2 it takes wolverine time to recover, its fast, but it takes time. In this movie they went overboard with his healing capabilities. Bullets were bounding off his head like it was nothing. Falling from a plane into water would have done serious damage to his body, on top of the weight of the elimantium. Would he of not sunk to the bottom of the ocean and drowned?

The CGI of the claws was beyond bad. And I wont even mention the end, it was horrible. The love story was a weird mix. And they tried to bring in familiar scenes such as boxing and the middle finger claw from the original X-men movie. Which felt like they were trying too hard.

Wolverine was missing his grit. They should have wrote him as an evil character who was fighting to find his heart. That would have been more interesting.

Because I'm a massive x-men and Wolverine fan I'll always watch all the films they make. And again its not a terrible movie, I just wish they would have made it better, with the quality it deserved.

  • A Special Genre

Over the top action, lots of gore, tons of color and wild creative filming. This movie is a little different, but there's nothing wrong with different. It reminds me of the Death Race films. Some of the plot didn't make sense, like why not just go to a hospital and demand a doctor to help you? And I think he would have lost his hands from infection. And how did he all of a sudden know how to shoot like a pro? But, it's a movie, it doesn't have to make sense to still be entertaining.

I loved how colourful the movie was and the action was great. As always Daniel Radcliff was amazing. I was impressed with his voice, he completely got rid of his British accent. The movie went far out of the normal box and gave some heavy spins. It was refreshing and creative. I wish they would make a part two. The film really has Kill Bill vibes mixed with Death Race and The Purge. Fun survival film with heavy action.

  • A Softer and Yet Still Fun Predator Film

It might not be "predator" that we know and love, but it's not terrible either. The movie would have benefited more if it didn't contain the name and franchise of predator. And would have came off as its own thing of monsters killing monsters.

This is not a horror movie, its honestly barely a thriller. There's nothing scary about it. There's no gore. It's almost a souped up disney movie. Reminds me of John Carter. But it is entertaining. I loved the world they introduced with all the death traps and new creatures. It was very creative in those regards. The relationship between the predator and the android was fun. Lots of funny banter. And it was a wholesome film with great values and a message that your stronger with a family then doing it alone. I enjoyed the movie a lot.

  • Flat and Disappointing

A let down. The first film was so good. It had everything a movie should have, but this one comes out flat. I'm not sure if it was the fact that we all know the Wizard Of Oz story, so they gave us a backstage look at it, without really showing the main story. Or if they tried too hard. But the movie felt very empty.

The music and songs didn't fit well like the first film. And there was no more mystery in this one. We already know what happens if you've seen the Wizard of Oz film. It would have been nice if they added in the actual story of Dorthy and her friends. Instead they only mention them and show the in between scenes, of whats happening behind the story.

The movie had lots of great color and was visually appealing, but it didn't flow well. They did a time jump. It would have been a better film if they would have picked up right where the first one ended. Instead it felt rushed to get to Dorthy and her friends. There was no more character growth like the first film and they barely showed us the wicked witch of the east.

The first film had so much mystery to unravel and characters to fall in love with. In Wicked for good there was no more mystery. No knew characters or even a build in character depth. The movie could of at least explored the main girls magic capabilities more. And adding in the almost sex scene felt wrong, since the movie is supposed to be a family film.

  • Not Easy to Watch

Riri, a girl who is supposed to be a genius, builds a suit from nothing and then...

I was really excited to watch Irionheart. I had high hopes that got crushed after the first five minutes of the series. I did endure the entire six episodes, but it was not easy. There wasn't one character I liked on the entire show. They all needed to be recasted especially the actress who played Riri. The writing was horrendous. Nothing made sense. They kept trying to stress the fact that this girl had zero money, and somehow she could design incredible things. So she had to find this money somewhere, and only crime could give that to her. Which makes no sense since she was in MIT and they were giving her everything the school had to offer, plus the Stark internship. So how exactly was she short on recourses? Also they made her into into this Mary sue character, she could design anything. Have the suit, plus fight hand to hand combat like a trained assassin even tho she was never trained in combat. And it was perfectly fine for her to jump in and out of her suit in public with zero repercussions. How can you do crime, when everyone knows who you are? Shouldn't the police have knocked down her door during the first heist. If they can lock up bruce Banner then I think they can take on this little girl in a suit.

The plot holes kept coming non-stop. On top of not liking any of the cast, nearly every scene made me role my eyes. The entire show was a disaster. And the Cape, they picked the worst actor ever. The whole cast felt like they just signed up to acting school with zero experience and were attempting to act. Marvel put no money in this and assigned the worst writers. What did they think was going to happen?

  • Slow Burn

A movie about forbidden love set amongst Jewish religion. I know a lot of people enjoyed this film. And you could say it was complex, but speaking from the view of a gay person who grew up in the church, I find the movie was weak.

Disobedience is a really slow moving film. There are so many empty scenes that easily make it boring. The plot is extremely simple, but they could have expanded it more. The movie takes place in only a few short days. They show the struggle between familys that have made different choices and a woman who struggles to follow her heart. What I found lacking was the actual religious conviction. It didn't feel like a tortured feeling of do I give into who I am and my sexuality or do I follow my love for God and what He wants. Instead it came down to fear, of leaving your "home" behind to go after what you desire. Even then it was a little muttled. Nothing about this movie was clear cut and dry.

A slow film with an almost disappointing end. It was trying to convey a message and it could have done it much better. The movie feels like its following a book, the problem with that is in a book you can hear thoughts. You cant hear what people are thinking unless they speak it in a movie. There wasn't enough talking to convey what was going on in the hearts and mind of the lead actors. And when they finally did put in the sex scene it was very mild and not graphic in the slightest. It was like the actresses didn't want to show off their body.

  • Filler Season. Disappointing beyond Dissapointing

What was the point of this season? It accomplished nothing. The entire thing was a filler. At least in Game of Thrones when they had a filler season it was about setting up the chess pieces for the next big moves. This didn't even do that. Where is the mystery? Why did the Wild Hunt suddenly disappear? "I relinquish my powers." So Cerci, with no explanation used zero magic in the entire season. Even when the most horrific things are happening. Zero magic. I thought the entire point of the show was her amazing powers and the prophecy and now she has no magic? Neither was explained in this season, it makes no sense. Why show her as being crazy powerful and everyone wanting her and now... nothing? The plot with the evil wizard was so over used it was boring.

Yenifer carried this season through on her back and she looks like someone has drained the life out of this poor actress. She was the only reason I kept watching this season. What did they do to poor Jaskier? He was always singing, lighthearted and funny. The entire season he barely sung. Barely made a joke and was very series and sad. Jaskier always had a big role of bringing in heart and humor. But they stripped this away from the character and suddenly it felt like, why is he even there?

On top of that the writers kept pulling in old characters, to the point where they have been over used. The new characters brought in weren't that great either. They had no cool story or depth to add to the series or really even meaning like characters used to mean. They all felt like shallow throw away characters.

Geralt wanting to become a knight? Odd, he never mentioned it in the previous three seasons. Why is it such a big deal now? It feels so out of place, like beyond out of place. The series needs new writers or whoever originally wrote season one. And Liam needs to go. His voice and demur is hard to watch compared to Cavil's.

NOTHING about this season felt good or satisfying to watch. They took one of my favorite series and destroyed it. And Ceri's logic for staying away makes zero sense. Like zero sense. What a let down. What a disappointment.

  • It's Ruined

I loved this series so much. Until season 4. After the first few minutes of this episode I had a hard time continuing. Liam is not the Geralt I know and I do not understand why they casted him. If you're going to change the lead (worst mistake ever) you have to upscale or match. They did neither. Liam's voice is sooo bad compared to Henrys. For three seasons I have listened to that gritty voice. I've watched the neutrality mixed with emotions in his eyes and seen his manly and yet brave demure. And Liam has NONE of those things. His voice is soft. His eyes are soft. His face is soft. His demure is soft. He is "acting" tough and yet not believable in anyway because he seems like a soft, pretty pincushion. Every scene they showed Liam I wanted to fast forward through. It was unbearable. Netflix needs to fire Liam and bring back Henry Cavill, or a similar actor or this series is going to lose all its fans.

On top of that, what is going on with the writing? Everything about this episode felt off. And it doesn't seem to be heading in a good direction. Did they hire a knew writer too? And why does Yenifer look like she's been run through the wringer and left with no makeup on. Even through the battle scenes in the third season she never looked so out of sorts. More then that, how many more mages are we killing off? This is ridiculous. Will there be any left?

  • A Childs Show

I was disappointed with how shallow the series was. I genuinely wanted to watch an interesting animated series of Wakanda's history. Instead Disney quickly slapped together a very quick series with stunning art, but no depth. The quickness of it really shows.

Eyes of Wakanda follows a different person in each episode. We never really get to know these characters very well. It's a quick blip of a story with each one. These characters are tasked with retrieving a glowing purple rock that somehow was stolen or left Wakanda over time.

The visuals and art are fantastic, but with only four episodes, the writers gave nothing deep or even memorable about Wakanda's history or story. They really could have sunk some time in creating full episodes of a deeper story, with layered characters that we get to know. The series would have been more of a hit in my opinion if it would have had more depth to it. Instead it felt like a childs show. I learn't nothing more about Wakanda. And honestly could have done without watching this. It's not memorable. They need the people who created Spider-man into the spider verse to have made this series.

  • Lacking Badly

After watching Hawkeye and introducing Echo, I was excited for this series. Echo was a heavy hitter and cool character. But then someone decided to write this series...

Echo suddenly can barely get in a punch and is loosing at every turn. What happened to this elite assassin? She goes home and becomes weak in the knees? There's so much build up in the series and yet no action to show for it. She acts tough and we saw that she was tough in Hawkeye and yet now she cant even win a fight against untrained amateurs?

The series moved really slow, with not much in it. And on top of that they made it extra short. It had so much potential to be awesome. To have a story where she fights kingpin for his kingdom or becomes a protector of the her people. Or something. But they have very little of any of that. There's so many boring filler scenes that don't build on the show. And they barely show the friendship she is supposed to have with her childhood friend. All the heart is stripped from this series and it easily becomes boring and annoying.

They needed to show the strong killer assassin that Echo was promised to be. They needed to give her a fight with those superior skills that would hold the audiences attention like John Wick level. But they don't. They needed to show more of a fight within herself to find her humanity. And they didn't need to wait for an eternity before she was able to unlock her true power. I loved the native aspect of this show and it was awesome that they introduced the native culture, but the series need to have more grit. There's really not much to it. It easily could have been summed up in a two hour movie. Or two episodes. Somehow they dragged a nearly empty plot story into five episodes.

  • Empty

This should have been a good movie and yet it really lacked. They introduced some great new characters such as Namor. And practically Atlantis. They're were great fighting scenes and it was creative in that sense. But that's where the meter stops.

Everything Namor did made no sense. And he never really followed through with what he was preaching. But why would you try and kill off the one country that has never hurt you, no wants to attack anyone else? Marvel also introduced Iron heart. Her story was fun at first with how important she was and then it just petered off and suddenly she was a side character that was no big deal.

What felt even more wrong was the direction Shuri's character went. They tried to make this inner battle but it felt more annoying then anything because there was no real commitment. And the new Black panther they chose did not feel right at all. And it made no sense since she has no hand-to-hand combat experience or training.

The story was all over the place not really picking on thing to focus on. Making it feel empty. And boring. And very, very slow. There was no real grit or heart in the show and a lot of things didn't make sense. Especially the ending. Isn't it mandatory for the blood, heir and or black Panther be the leader of Wakanda? Shouldn't the person who leads Wakanda not just be muscle but have a lot of brain and heart? To run the most advanced country in the world?

  • Why? Just Why?

I had a hard time finishing it. They tried to make She-Hulk better then all men. And they tried to make men look like horrible human beings. They exaggerate everything to extremes and attempted to make it funny. It wasn't funny. Breaking the fourth wall, just like Deadpool made it all even worse. On top of everything there wasn't really a story to follow. No villain to conquer. Or mystery to solve. No real cases to crack. It was a lot of hot air. And there's no memorable side kicks to root for. Also, why on earth was the CGI for she-hulk this bad?

I was so excited for the series because I'm a big fan of Tatiana Maslany, she was the main reason I wanted to see it. But whoever wrote the series destroyed it. And Tatina's chance of being liked and returned as She-Hulk.

  • Eye Candy with Too much Comedy

Everyone is back. I loved that they brought back everyone especially the tiny glimpse of the guardians of the Galaxy. But the movie fell short of expectations.

The movie put in too many jokes. They tried to make everything funny and it wasn't. It felt like someone trying too hard. Nothing felt natural, but instead strained. Because of this it really took away from the movie. It was missing heart and depth. It was too fluffy.

I loved the colors in the movie, everything was so bright and colorful. Christian Bale was absolutely fantastic as a villain. And I really wish they would have given him more screen time, we barely get to see him. It was fun introducing new places and realms. The movie could have expanded more on the "other" gods. Especially Zeus's realm. They gave so little time on this that it was disappointing. Practically a cameo.

Somehow the film manages to be constantly moving from one place to another and yet getting no where and accomplishing nothing.

Moon Knight is different, which is refreshing. Finally a new hero comes forth in the MCU. Everything about it fun to watch. It tells the story of the Egyptian gods and gives us a glimpse into their world which was fun. Oscar Isaac is a fantastic actor as he plays two versions of moon knight that are drastically different. I loved the comedy in the show I just wish it would have been longer. They could have easily done twenty episodes of this series. Or have made a season 2. It's too bad it stopped after one season. And I wish they would have used a known actress to play Layla. I did not like May Calamawy's take on the role.

  • Needed More Spice

A missed opportunity of creativity. The series had a good grip to it that kept my attention. It was well put together for animation. And had lots of gore. But they could have gone much bigger with this and had fun by adding in some new Marvel hero's from the comics. Or bringing in some bigger heroes that we've already seen. The person I really enjoyed watching was in the show was Blade.

The series felt disappointing with it following Ms. Marvel and her quest to save the world. It started out strong with a wonderful cast and then they slowly disappear and it felt like you were left with a weaker character that someone kept going. Ms. Marvel wasn't as fun to follow as the others were. And Marvel really could have used this opportunity to bring in new marvel characters. We all know this is from a multiverse world, so why not have fun with it and bring in something different? Or even have the x-men or something. Instead it was a play on Thanos, and the stones, which has been over done, especially with the What If Series. It came off more boring then anything.

And the ending, was beyond disappointing. It felt like, why did I just watch this? What was the point? Did I learn anything new? No. Was it entertaining, some what. Was it the same old but with zombies? Yes.

Practically the alien version of Gremlins. I really enjoyed it. I liked the space element they brought to the film it was really creative. The bounty hunters reminded me of terminator a little bit. Being able to change their face and not understanding humans. Wanting to destroy everything to succeed in their mission. I find this movie also had a 5th Element vibe to it.

I think the only parts I kept rolling my eyes was the classic men save woman and woman do nothing but scream. I noticed they kept picking on the men to be eaten or attacked. And left the woman alone. I did like the cast tho, it was fun seeing Scott Grimes in his younger acting years.

Definitely a B movie. But I'll be adding this one to the halloween marathon list.

  • I Still Enjoy It

I used to watch this movie a lot as a kid. Watching it now and comparing it to other marvel films. It still holds up alright. Other then the horrible CGI. And there's a lot of it.

I love the cast in this film. They picked the perfect people to play their parts and they all flow nicely together. The story isn't bad, I just find it has a lull in the middle. The main focus of the film is the characters coming to terms with their new abilities. Unfortunately it takes the entire movie to do this. It's more subtle with the bad guy, leaving a simple battle at the end. And there isn't a lot of hero moments where the fantastic four is saving people. They always seem to be mopping up their own mess.

I found this film of Fantastic Four has more of a comic book, corney feel to it. Whereas most early 2000 super hero films were more serious mixed in with a ton of action. This movie is more comedic and character bonding heavy. Less action. But I find the comedy and the cast make up for the lack of other things in this movie. I just wish they would have used less CGI. It looks horrible.

  • What A Ride

When I first started watching the movie I thought it was a bit much and extremely confusing. But then it starts to grow on you and gets really, really good.

Snatch is a wild ride of many different gangsters all coming together to fight for a diamond while mixing in some illegal boxing. The start of the movie is very confusing because they throw a ton of information at you. The film gives you a short bio explaining who everyone is. The problem is that there are twenty people to suddenly remember who is who. So you feel a little thrown around. But as the film goes on it starts to get better and better.

Its all male testosterone in this one. A full male cast. With great actors. Lots of action, punches being thrown and fun gang to gang fighting. It's really funny in some places as some of the criminals are not very smart. It's also fun to see who is the better "guy" to win the diamond and come out alive.

  • A Very Surreal Movie

I had to read some else's take on this movie to get a deeper understanding of it. It's one of those films, that you could take it for face value. Or you could read deep into it and find your self entering a rabbit hole of meanings, that needs multiple views to digest.

Eyes Wide Shut is a surreal movie. It's like watching someone's dream. The story is supposed to represent a man's sexual fantasies and fears. While he goes off the rails because of an admittance his wife makes. And finally it comes to a conclusion at the end.

Picking at the film I can say it's well crafted and written. The entire thing holds an eerie feel to it. There's very little music and when they do make a sound its someone playing keys on the piano which was a popular thing in the older horror films. The silence adds to the eeriness of the movie. And gives full attention to the long conversations that happen. Every scene is drawn out and movies slowly. The sets are well crafted and beautifully put together.

Tom Cruise as always, nailed his part. He was fantastic. Unfortunately Nicole Kidman's role in the film was small. There was more then enough nudity in the film. They loved to show the woman's body, especially Nicole Kidmans body. Understandably to bring in more views and because the movie is seen through a man's sexual fantasy perspective it makes sense that all the nudity is from the woman's body.

I think it's easy to look deeper into the movie and say it's all just surrealism. Inside the head of a man's psyche. Allowing everything that happens in the film to represent something. But I find myself also thinking about the reality of this film. And how Hollywood is flaunting it in our faces. The movie is surrounded with rich people. Every house other then the hookers and costume guy, are all old, rich, beautiful homes. It wouldn't surprise me for a moment if there really are clubs like this in high society. Rich folk in suits, drinking fancy drinks and having drugs on the side. With parties of orgies and public sex amongst each other. Harsh rules that your body belongs to everyone in the room and your in it until death. I think this movie is double sided. You have the deeper psychological meaning of the film and you also have a glimpse at perhaps what actually happens in high society.

  • Too Rushed

There have been a lot of fantastic marvel films made, but this one felt like a quick write up and push out.

The plot is extremely simple. The whole movie is a chase with the Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange. The movie felt very fast paced from the first opening scenes to the last there wasn't a lot of time to soak anything in as it quickly pushed from one scene to the next. There wasn't much dialogue in the film it was more action heavy. The movie picked on Doctor Strange's potential to be evil and his unspoken love for Christine, which is nothing new.

My favorite part of the entire movie was the quick cameo's of the new superheroes. I really wish it would have been longer then five minutes of the movie. If they would have given more screen time to these heroes the movie would have been much more appealing. And the Scarlet Witch is one of my favorite characters. I find the movie didn't give her story justice. After watching WandaVision this movie was a cheap shot in the direction of her story. And the ending really wasn't a good one.

  • Another Remake...

I honestly wasn't going to watch it. I've seen all the superman remakes and I really liked Henry Cavill as Superman. So I walked into the new Superman with zero expectations.

The movie has a lot of good things and some bad things. And somehow balances itself out to "alright". First off, it felt like I was watching part three of a trilogy film. We all know the Superman story, we've seen it many times. And perhaps they didn't want to bore audiences with redoing the origin again. So instead they took a running jump into the middle of the comic books and gave us this movie. By doing that it made it difficult to connect to characters. And made everything fairly shallow. But it did give us a new story that hasn't been filmed before. And lots of new characters.

Throughout the entire movie they made Superman weak. Almost human. He was always getting beat down and barely keeping his head above water. Which is a different perspective of Superman. But it allowed us to see the humanity of him and gave an opening for other superheroes in the DC universe to join the story.

The biggest thing I loved about the entire movie was all the new characters. We finally get to see the Green Lantern, Hawk Girl and Mr. Fantastic. There was also a good mix of villains. And Krypto the dog was fantastic.

Most of DC movies are dark. Marvel is known for its comedy and lightness. Where as DC is more dark and heavy. The new Superman movie is far from dark. They try to put in a little comedy to lighten it all up. The colors are bright and vivid and the filming is fantastic. The one thing that annoyed me was the CGI of the dog. I wish they would have used a real dog.

I'm not a big fan of David Corenswet as Superman. He lacks in a commanding presence and comes off as just a guy trying to do his best, completely imperfect. And yet Superman is supposed to be an alien. He's not human and he does have amazing abilities. I wish they would have kept Henry Cavill.

Overall its not a bad movie. I would definitely recommend watching it if you love DC movies. Probably one of the best DC movies made in years.

  • No heart and Soul All action

I think what ruined this movie for me was Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. In the entire movie it felt like they were saying goodbye to each other. Like they wanted to cry the whole time with heartbreak, They didn't have that puppy love fun chemistry they had in the first movie. And I think it's because in real life they broke up. The villain was great and new. The story okay. But the heart and feeling wasn't in the movie like the first one. It was all action with a good story.

  • Nothing New

The movie that killed the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man franchise. After loving the first and second I had high hopes for this one. I watched it in theaters when it first came out and recently rewatched it again this year and it is a complete disappointment. The film takes a nose dive compared to the others.

Venom needed much more spotlight then a black gooey substance that makes spider-man into a "bad boy". Where's the grit in that? After finally getting MJ in the last film it was really hard watching their relationship in this one. Everything about the movie felt empty and over used. It would have been okay to have the sandman, but to keep pulling on facts from the first film felt annoying. They needed a fresh start with new villains instead of trying to replay what has already happened.

  • Better then the First?

Spider-Man part one will always have a special place in my heart, with Toby McGuire as peter Parker. It's debatable if part two is better then the first.

The movie follows Parker as he struggles with wanting to be spider-man and wanting to be a normal man. Really fantastic villain. Doc Oc was a perfect mix of horror and humanity. The film really stepped up into having some darker horror elements to it compared to the first. The love story between Peter and MJ continued to torture us in a good way. And the film did well with bringing back all the old cast, further layering everyones story with hard times and true friendships. Over all the movie is fantastic.

  • Underrated

I had seen this when it first came out and then completely forgot about it. Years later I find myself rewatching all of the spider man movies in preparation to watch Spider-Man no Way Home and was pleasantly surprised by The Amazing Spider-Man.

The movie is really well filmed. It doesn't joke around. It has a great serious feel to it. There's so much depth and emotion in the movie from Andrew Garfield portrayal of Peter Parker. And you can really feel the chemistry between him and Emma Stone. The film felt less like a light comic book story and more of a down to earth reality check of a struggling young adult who finds himself with powers and new love. It was mixed with great action and fun villains. Epic battle scenes. I really enjoyed this version of Spider man and I wish it was less over looked compared to the newer marvel films.
