I'm not sure what's worse, this awful Hollywood-ised treatment of the most important trial of the last century, or the (I assume) Americans reviewing it on this site as being "too historical" or "too factual".
All that displays is the ignorance of factual history that seems to beset a generation, who swallow the "American" narrative to most things.
This was an opportunity for a genuine examination of the events, given over to flag-hugging myth which bares only a passing resemblance to fact.
The US played a major part in WWII. This wasn't one of them.
Please watch the far superior original.

A stellar cast, and lovely locations don't make up for the fact that It's sad that they've taken a wonderful true story and turned it into a soulless, plastic, shiny, formulaic bit of tat.
Most of the participants phoned in their performances in a way that leaves nobody caring in the slightest what happens next.
Look up the story of Harry Hallowes and just think about what they could have done with this compared to what they chose to do.
I didn't even mind the love story aspect, nor the Americanisation of an England nobody has ever seen. That's to be expected.
But to have done it with such a heavy handed disregard for story and emotion is unforgivable.

I don't understand the high IMDb rating for this show.
I'm a massive Anthony Horowitz fan, and im obsessed with crime and time travel.
So having found out about this series it was an no-brainer that I would seek it out.
I'm really disappointed.
Obviously I didn't expect anything too special. Tv crime drama and sci-fi wasn't great back then.
However, even for 1997, the production values on this show are so poor as to make it laughable.
The least we could have expected was a directorial flow, simple characterisations and an idea that people cared what they were making.
What we've got is a great idea ruined by terrible acting, Ham fisted direction and dialogue that was nothing short of laughable.
No wonder it only lasted one series.
Ps. Whatever happened to Michael French and Chloe Annetts?
Who did they piss off so much that this was the height of their careers?
